ACS Skills Assessment

Hi,

Has anyone ever gone through the ACS Skills Assessment on their own without an agent?

When I spoke to the agent he made out that it is the worst assessment to do! I have no idea if he is just trying to get money out of me!

I have checked the requirements, and have the relevant documentation, but wondered if any could tell me if its as bad as he is making out or not.

Thanks for any advice.

Baz.

Hi Baz

We did an online assessment with migrationexpert.com whereby they assessed our points and told us which visa to apply for and how to go about it. We then paid about £200 to download info pack which outlined how to go about the skills assessment and visa process. This is all we paid and successfully had Phils(baker)skills assessed by following the guidelines (I think the price included a months online consultation which answered any question we had) however this was before we discovered pia which answers most questions or as a good try anyway for free. We have just e-lodged visa appliacation too for sir 475 visa. Good luck

Hello Baz,

I am currently going through the ACS process. They confirmed receipt of documentation on 25th january and after much to'ing and fro'ing, i received an e-mail yesterday telling me a decision had been made (not what) and that i would receive a letter with in 21 days. This does seem to be the only way they will let you know.

With regard to the process, yes i have also heard it is the "worst" one to go through. It is painful and does take time to pull everything together (especially detaioed company references) but if it all works out, then fine (and you will see if you are serious). I don't have a degree so i needed to take the RPL option. If you do have an IT related degree you should find it easier.

Hope all works out for you, we should find out in the next few weeks now if we are able to move forward, i have a job offer and ENS sponsorship waiting on the outcome of this.

Good luck

Andy,

I have just been in touch with a guy called Peter Chiam in Sydney, It seems he specialises in the ACS skills assessment, and he charges less than the agents here, so I have gone with him. I don't have a degree, but i do have an HNC in Computer studies.

Let me know how you get on.

Baz.
