Hi Can anyone help please? Are dental costs (check-ups and treatments) subsidised by Medicare in the same way as Dr's costs?

    Thank you in anticiation..

Some basic dental work is subsidised for children and recipients of specified welfare benefits. Other than that think of a number and double it.

We have basics extras, we can claim $500 per normal dental and $1000 for major.

For a family if 6, that's less than $80 per month.

A friend of ours doesn't have any cover. She went to the dentist, needed a root canal and got charged over $600!!

If you need dental treatment, get cover first

Years ago it was cheaper for people covered by the NHS to fly from Sydney to the UK, have 4 roots and a 3-week holiday than to get done here.

    No wonder they wear masks.
