I sing with two groups who are looking for new members Onkaparinga Harmony (ladies group ages 18+) who rehearse on a Thursday evening in Happy Valley and the Adelaide Allsorts (mixed group current youngest member 14yrs and oldest 76yrs any age welcome) who rehearse in Marion on a Friday. You don't have to be able to read music, we have music and listening tracks available to help you learn the songs. PM me if you would like more information.

Both groups have their first rehearsals for 2014 next week, visitors are always welcome let me know if you want to come along.

Great idea. I'm a great shower singer but not a great public one. I would imagine it's a great way of socialising.

Shower singers are most welcome that's how most of us started :)

Yes, but I take it you have to be somewhat in tune? Or are you allowed to sing quietly?

Best thing to do is come for a visit, but it is harder to sing in tune quietly :)

We have had a couple of visitors in the last 2 weeks one from my post, yeah! We are recording a video for a competition with the Friday group this week and on the 21st and need an audience to sing too. If anyone is free for an hour from 8 - 9pm pm me and I will send you the address. The more the merrier, be warned you might have to listen to the same two songs a couple of times :)

This sounds great! I'm not arriving in Adelaide for another few weeks, but would love to come along to the Friday group sometime - is it open throughout the year, or do you have to get involved early on?

I saw your initial post and had to deliberate as to come along or not. Decided that it would cause me to cry again. I lost my singing voice to throat cancer some years ago, but thankfully I can still speak. A warning to all smokers, I got the cancer 3 years after I gave up smoking.

Good luck to you and your groups.

Edit. To end on a high note (excuse the pun) enjoy this.
