Making friends

    Recommended Posts

    Hello there,

I have been a member on PIO for a really long time now. I've come on here as my husband and I made the move 6 months ago. We absolutely love it here but now the busyness of the last 6 months have calmed down we're looking to meet new friends. Friends have always been a massive part of my life and at the moment I'm missing the social life I had back in the UK. I've made some brilliant friends at work however, there is no one of a similar age and we mainly see each other for yoga or a coffee. I'm 26 and my husband is 30 we have no kids and two dogs and live in the northern suburbs. If anyone fancies a meet up or if a few people fancy it I'll try book a table somewhere, maybe grange or Henley beach.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    L.

Hi all - bit late notice but if any of you are at a loose end tonight, get along to the Tea Tree Gully Hotel. Georgie Carroll is test running her fringe show there along with Thomas Green - show starts at 8pm. Drinks specials and a good night to be had!

    Hi All

You all sound fairly similar to me - except I met my partner out here. I'm 27, my other half works a lot and doesn't have a big friendship group. I'm really struggling to find new friends out here - as lets face it back home mine were through school, uni and work! I live in Glenelg but can head up to the city too (or anywhere in between) if anyone fancies a few drinks of a weekend to maybe strike up a new friendship

Ps. a group meet up in Henley sounds good, less pressure!

    Hi L

My husband and I are feeling the same, we came over in August last year and we've joined up to see if there are any meet ups nearby. We're at West Lakes so Henley/Grange are perfect, we often walk to the Grange hotel with our dog on a weekend! Not sure how you PM but just let me know if you want to catch up, we're both early 30's and it'd be nice to catch up with people who've experienced the big move.

Hey guys. I've been living in Adelaide for 10 months now and I love it but not had any English company for a while. I came here on my own and have met lots of great people so far but it would be great to meet some more friends. I'm 25 and living in Norwood but can easily travel to anywhere. Let me know if anyone is out and about or keen to organise a catch up.

    Hey guys,

We live in Henley and take our 4 legged beastie for long walks on the beach. We're late 20's/30's. Drop me a PM if you fancy meeting up. I love it down the beach this time of year with no pesky tourists around :-)

    Speak for yourself Deb! ;-)

Maybe we arrange a Henley/Grange meet up once we're both back then if people are interested?

I Can't remember when you're actually back but I think you leave before we get back from NZ xx

    Hello,

Probs a bit late writing on here, but my husband (30) and I (28) are going to be moving into a new rental in the Henley Beach area and are keen to catch up with some people our age. We are from Manchester and its just the two of us....at the moment, dog soon possibly :-)

We will be moving over to Henley early July and and are always up for meeting new people, if anyone fancies catching up give us a shout.

I realise a while has passed since your post but if your still looking for meet ups let me know. Me and my husband moved over here 2 years ago and have struggled to meet new people. I'm 33, he's 39 with no kids. After winging about struggling to meet people I thought I would have a look on here. We're pretty normal, like socialising, seeing bands, meals out etc and live at Henley :-)
