Studying on a 457 visa

Hiya,

I was wandering if anybody knew about studying whilst on a 457 sponsored visa. I am a defacto on my partners visa and really want to study midwifery. I am under the impression that I will still have to pay international student rates if I want to study now, which more than doubles the course price! Does anybody know if this is the case?

We got stung by the fact my partner is a plumber and gas fitter so have been set back with him doing all the courses to allow us to go any further with our visa situation so I have been fluttering between crappy jobs for 3 years now and it's becoming a real.. Bore to put it politely!

Yep you would be classed as an international student.

 

Did your hubby get sponsored on a 457 visa then??......

Yes you have to pay international fees until such time as you get pr.

Yeah my partner is currently sponsored through hsi company. I thought it would be the case- Grrrrrr!!!!
