Transferring Money

Hi Guys,

 

Sorry to sound a bit dumb!!

 

We are due to fly out mid April and wanted to know the best way to transfer some money over as at the moment we have not opened an account, but will be doing later today once the flights have been booked!!

 

Which is the best company to use and do people still leave their UK Bank accounts open too, for a shrot while?

I would look at opening an account online with NAB they have no monthly fees like other banks, however, I would use Moneycorp to move the money from the UK to Australia, you will get a better exchange rate plus as they are one of our partners there is no charges for sending or receiving money.

Moneycorp,are helpful, but you will pay a few more cents in the dollar to them than you would a company like ukforex for doing exactly the same thing.

 

Set up accounts with a few companies and compare the rates.

Torfx have been good for us they charge no fee but our bank charges $10 when the money comes in
