Qualified Plumber - Immigration options

    Recommended Posts

    Hi All,

My cousin has just become a qualified plumber and has been working as an apprentice for the past 2 years.

What sort out chances / options does he have available to him in terms of immigrating to Australia?

    Cheers,

    Robbie

Not many until he has a few years experience (post training). There is employer sponsorship but that can be near impossible to get for trades as often the companies don't qualify even if they want to sponsor someone.

If he is under 30 he could look into a working holiday visa, but that can sometimes slow down the time it takes someone to earn enough experience to pass the skills assessment later.

    Thanks for the advice...

He's not in a rush to get over, but the idea is that he has something to work towards. i.e. getting a few years experience under the belt
