Hi,

I'm going to spend 2-3 nights tent camping in Adelaide in early Dec with my parents, husband and 2 young boys (1 and 3 yrs). Could you please recommend best place to base ourselves. First timers in Adelaide and will be visiting friends at Henley Beach. We have cars.

Thanks, Anna

Adelaide Shores is a great site in a superb location. http://www.adelaideshores.com.au/ Very central and will be near to your friends in Henley Beach. Unless you want somewhere a bit further afield? Windsor Gardens also has a nice site if you like somewhere a bit greener and leafier. It is alongside the River so if you like cycling and walking, it's very convenient for getting into the city (the O-Bahn is also nearby) which is a lovely place to explore with lots for all ages. http://www.windsorgardenscaravanpark.com.au/

also (further south) Belair and Brownhill Creek

if you want to be well away from the city there are a couple of nice ones in McLaren Vale (only 40 minutes from the centre of town) and several more in the Fleurieu Peninsular - perhaps a bit too far out for you if you are going to be in the Henley Beach area

Think we want to stay central as we'll spend a further night in accommodation in one of the wine regions afterwards. I'll look into the more central options.

I agree with Diane...the Adelaide shores is a very well equipped site.

Thanks for the input, think that settles it for Adelaide shores. I'll have a quick look at their website but really couldn't differentiate between the options doing that alone prior to these recommendations.
