    hi,

we used a company called visa-go who have offices in Lverpool and Edinburgh but found geography didnt matter as we never met them anyway!!!! They were really helpful and seem to know everything there is to know about visas.

Hi first off welcome to the site

We used Visa Bureau, in London and we are in Northern Ireland. Have found them really good so far, everything done via phone or email and always reply instantly when we have a query. Cost was £1800 +vat for their services TRA, DIAC and Meds fees on top

    Good luck :wubclub:

What skill are you offering? There are companies that specialise or you may not even need one.

Hi and welcome to PIA, we used Gomatilda and found them to be great. Like Pete :notworthy:said it helps with applications when the trade or skills you have being on the demand list. Best to contact a few and go with the one that makes you feel comfortable as like you say the cheapest is not always the best

    Good luck

We used Global Visas and they were great, but I've heard that there's been a few staffing problems there in the last six months or so....

I agree! we did get our visa in April using global visas However our first agent was really great emails and phone calls to us to keep us informed of every step. we then had another agent who was OK but she still took a few days to answer our emails...we are now on our third agent and although she was the one to write to let us know we had our visas I havent heard anything more from her even though I have emailed her to ask her a couple of questions.. I am of course grateful that we got our visas with their help but from a communication point of view things did worse in our opinion anyway.

Not sure how this works or if person who posted original thread will be able to see this.

We got our visa using Four Corners based near Manchester. They have been great - we originally thought we would need a sponsor but they got us through without one, on a route we didn't know existed using my husbands experience as a joiner over 16 years ago and linking it to the work he does at present (site manager).

The whole process has been almost completely flawless and it only took 12 months from the start of getting all the info together to receiving our permanent residents visa four weeks ago. They replied to everything very quickly and kept us informed during the whole process. they are now helping us with our relocation over next 6 or so months. They are not cheap but if you are unsure which direction to take they may be able to help. I think they do a free initial consultation, can't remember now, but can be done over the telephone too I'm sure.

    good luck

Will try again. Just posted a quick reply to this but it seems to have got lost in cyber space somewhere.

Anyway we used Four Corners near Manchester. They have been great. Almost flawless process from start to finish. We originally thought we would need a sponsor (which we had lined up luckily) but they manager to find a route linking my husbands experience as a joiner over 16 years agon and his present job as a site manger. Without there help we would have gone down the sponsor route which involves even more money, form filling for us also etc, etc.

The whole process from start of getting references and TRA assessment to receiving permanent residents visa took 13 months. Lot shorter than the original 18 months we thought it would take.

Good luck and apologies if this apper somewhere else.

We used Overseas Emigration for our process and had no problems with them and would recommend them. We came on a skilled independent visa, my partner works in IT and was on the skills list.

My advice would be very careful who you use as we were told by Four Corners at one of their evening sessions we would not be able to get in to Australia and another company told us we needed to wait another 2 years before we could get in. I had done my research before and felt that both these statements were not accurate so did some more research and came across Overseas Emigration who said we would be able to get in. The process from start to finish took 18 months and we emigrated to Australia in March 2007 and love it here in Adelaide.
