Tonnes of fun at Touch a Truck
If your child gets excited every time they see a truck, then they’re going to love the City of Onkaparinga’s Touch a Truck event.
The free event — held on Friday 26 April from 10am until 2pm at the Colonnades Shopping Centre carpark in Noarlunga — gives children and families the chance to explore all the fascinating vehicles that work around the community every day.
It’s an interactive, outdoor event where children can sit in the cabins, honk horns and climb into large construction equipment.
Approximately 30 trucks and vehicles will be on display including a waste truck, cat loader, cherry picker, chipper truck, excavator, grader and street sweeper.
While the event is about giving kids the chance to see all these amazing trucks in one place, it’s also an opportunity to learn about how council’s City Operations team works.
People can meet the men and women behind the wheels of these impressive vehicles and ask questions.
There will also be face painting and jumping castles, and stalls on waste education and sustainability to name a couple.
It’s set to be an exciting day for little truck enthusiasts and also those young at heart.
