Hi everyone, we are newbies to this site.

We have submitted our online visa application and are aware there is a HUUUUGE backlog,:arghh:

we are wanting to move to Adelaide in Jan09 (due to needing to get the kids in at the start of the school year)....which we originally thought would give us plenty of time to get the visas, does anyone know if its possible to move before we get the visas and if this would have any problems with the process??

Without a residential visa of some sort you would not be able to work. You would also have to leave Australia and come back to validate your new visas. Ithink you would find it very hardwithout the proper visa.Just be patient. The longer you are there the longer it gives you to save money and to tie thing up properly. Your kids are still young and it wont matter if they start later in the year.Kids are moving in and out of schools all the time if they move or their parents have to move interstate due to transfers.

Well we started the process in Feb 2007 and still have not got our visa. We waited until we had a case officer and they requested meds and P/C so you could always get them done before they are requested if you wish. some people do this

hi - thanks, our agent has also said we could get the meds/PC's done in the meantime, its just that gamble of not getting them done too soon i guess as thats when the 12months would start.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

If you don't plan to move out until the new year I would wait to be told to get teh meds and PCs done. You should still have your viisa before the year is out.
