Passport expiring soon.

Hey guys,

I'm on 489 visa and can apply for 887 in sep 2017. My passport expires at the end of December 2017. Should I need to renew my passport before I lodge my 887 application? Or is it OK to have a passport expiring in 3 months at the time of lodgement?

Please help me with your answers.

Thanks

Anudeep

I did the same but CO asked me for new passport details. So it's better you do it before, and may be you know how bad these VFS people are..

Thank you inder21mar. Did you apply for new passport? How much was the charge and how long did it take for you?

:)

Mine was expired but they put it in damaged category caz bio page was damaged a bit with water.

For normal passport on expiry it cost $120.

But for damaged its $220 + notary attested fee and other.

Make sure you call them and ask them what exactly they need from you. As they are really annoying in this. Even if you think you have got everything right, they will still find something wrong or missing in your application..

Good luck dealing with them..[emoji1303]

Thanks for the heads up. I will probably apply in the near future so that I don't have the drama before visa lodgement :)
