What's the best way to pay a deposit when still in the UK?

Just a quick question.

If I want to pay a deposit to secure a rental property before we leave the UK, what's the best way to go about it?

Most places I have seen want the first weeks rent up front. Just wondering how best to pay someone in Oz.

hi ya i would say the best way to pay the deposit is call the rental company and pay over phone using credit card...you could do it online into agents accounts but i pay in cash for my rent to agents shop every two weeks!!!
