Hi we will be taking our collie with us when we move. At present she is used to going for walks across open moorland without a lead. are there similar places in Adelaide?

There are places you can walk dogs off leash here.

Some of the beaches allow it but I think it's at certain times. There are also many parks (reserves) that allow off leash walking as well.

There is one near us down South here - it has a little "doggie assault course" :)

Further south from us there is Kuitpo forest where you can take dogs for a good long walk.

We have 3 dogs but it's not that often we would let them off leash in public - they would run off in three different directions.:biglaugh:

Hiya.

Were taking 2 westies and if you get hold of the adelaide council they will give you a list and maps of all the dog walking parks.

Bring her down to Linear Park - the Dernancourt/Highbury side, where she can run off leash through the grass, chase a ball and swim in the river (or chase the ducks if she prefers!) You just have to put her back on a lead if she crosses the river...

It's on Weatsheaf Road,Woodcroft.Between States Road and Panalatinga Road.

It a big reserve with archery/dog training/miniature train/BBQ areas.

It's nothing flash - it's just a nice 30 min stroll with a few "obstacles" :)

It tires our 3 hounds out anyway.

Archery and dog training Tyke??? Do they like to have moving targets for their arrows??!!!! Not surprised your poor dogs get tired out, poor babies!

:biglaugh:

They take turns - plus it is a big reserve - just over from the Woodcroft house.
