    Hi Ian

I have no idea about upholstery!

I just wanted to let you know that myself and my partner emigrated from Nottingham in March 2007 to Adelaide and so far so good.

The one thing I would say from reading peoples threads on PIA, is a lot of people that have ran their own businesses say hairdressers and graphic designers find it hard to go back to working for someone else and starting at the bottom again.

Good luck and if I see anything on upholstery I will let you know!

Hi. My husband Jason is also Upholsterer although now works in furniture repair. I was researching jobs a couple of years ago through google. Most type of leather work was either car or marine manufacture. One of the sites I looked on was careerone.com.au and on a search today they do have a few upholstery vacancies. Not sure excactly what work this is though. We are off to Adelaide in October for a 3 week reccie and hope to move out some time next year.

If you look on www.seek.com.au under Manufacturing/Operations there is a job for a Furniture Upholsterer dated 29 July through an agency.

It might be worth contacting the agency to see what opportunities are out there and what the pay is like.
