    hi , just need a little info , my husbands passport expires in april next year , however we are awaiting a permanent visa hopefully anytime now, does he need to have at least six months validity for them to grant it , coz if it goes on to say october he may need to renew it now , hope this is not too confusing nicky

    Hi it might be an idea to renew it in the uk anyway. you can carrie over a certain amount of time from your old pasport if you renew early( think it might be 6m). If you decide to renew your UK pasport here it is rather expensive. I can't remember exactly how much but I can remember thinking ouch:biglaugh:

    You need to get this renewed now, whatever months are left on your old passport will be added to your new. We have had to do this with my hubby's passport as we were granted a permant visa and he only had 6 months left on his old one.
