Suggestions for car GPS thingos

I want a Tom Tom thingo or similar so I don't get lost in my 'new' car lol. Does anyone have one and if so, could you recommend a brand/type?

The TomTom is great. The TomTom 1 is fine for getting you about and is about a couple of hundred $. I know you can update TomTom but not sure about other makes

Don't you have a UBD? At least with a map book, you soon get a feeling for the layout of a place rather than just following instructions! Bit like, if my husband drives somewhere, I never take note of the route, but if I drive it myself, I remember it!

 

Hard copy UBD for me, anytime!

Yep, another friend recommended that one too, and it does seem to have good ratings from cnet, etc.
