Moving Feb/Mar09 needs advice

Hi everyone, I am new to this site so I don't know if anyone can help me.

We are moving to Adelaide at the beginning of next year as I wasn't too fussed about were we went and OH picked Adelaide.

He is a mechanic and has been told he is in demand but I am worried I will get there and that is not the case? Can anyone advise?

Also, I work in recruitment/HR which really needs to be a reasonably big city for me to be able to work. I think Glasgow is about the same size as Adelaide or so I am told but I have read a few comments about it being "small and town like" and I am starting to get worried. Does anyone know anyone who works in recruitment or can anyone advise if there is a demand for Recruitment Consultants?

I know I am a bit of a worrier but if anyone could put my mind at ease it would be great. PS - I have an HR qualification too so could work in this area too but would prefer agency recruitment but if you can advise on the HR market anyway it would be helpful.

Also, we are a quite young couple (25 & 29). Can any one advise on the night life? We don't need big clubs but we are sociable and want to be able to meet people of a similar age? Any opinions on this?

Hope to see you all soon.

    Lynsey

    Hey,

We are a young couple....25 and 26....and although not huge Adelaide has clubs, pubs and bars for every taste. We have no trouble finding somewhere to go and drink....

You can always drop us a PM or give us a call when you arrive!

    Hi Lindsey

I am hoping to get to Adelaide around February (that is what i'm aiming for anyway).

It would be great if we could all meet up with the Experienced POMS and get a few tips whilst having a great night out.

I am 28 and have a little girl but love to get out every opportunity i get. I'll be looking for that perfect childcare to cover work and nights out.

Good luck with everything and hope to see you in a few months.

You could try sending a pm to Sas (Guzzler & Sas) as she's a recruitment consultant.

Good luck with the move and welcome to PIA!:)

    Hi there

I am the better half of Guzzler&Sas - Sas.

Anyway, advice required about looking for work as a recruitment consultant? Then I am your person.

Depending on what sort of recruitment consultancy experience you have, you will not have a problem finding work here. If you would like to send me a PM - or if you don't know how, then I have sent you one. That way we can have a private chat about the wonderful world of being a rec-con!

Welcome to the site too ....

    Cheers

    Sas
