Aldinga Beach to CBD

Hi there,

Have been looking at rentals in Aldinga Beach and just wondered does anyone living there travel to the CBD to work and roughly how long does it take? Also whats the primary school like?

We're renting in Hallett Cove just now but this lease ends very soon so are on the move again and recently there has been very little thats come up to rent here (or we're being very fussy)!!

Any info would be great.

A lot depends on the time of day (traffic conjestion and the expressway direction). It takes me 35minutes from Seaford Rise to the southern end of the CBD on a good run with the expressway. Add another 10-15 from Aldinga?

45mins from Aldinga to CBD - arriving for 8am via express way - takes slightly longer the later you leave but not significantly longer.

We've found the travelling time from Hallett Cove to be only about 5-10 mins quicker.

We've lived in both!

it is about an hour down the southern express way you can do a bit quicker :)

I get from Seaford Rise to Plympton every morning in 25 mins. I think it will all depend on the traffic and what time you need to be at work.:jiggy:

It all depends on time of day, Hubs leaves at 4 am to get the work it takes him about 40 45 mins, on the way home at 230 it takes well over an hour that is from HC to somewhere way up north, past Salisbury

Thanks for all the replies, Im still definately considering Aldinga but OH thinks its too far away to commute every day. Problem is I really like here in the South and love the views of the ocean and being able to take the kids down the beach after school.

Really we just want somewhere we can rent a bit longer term and hopefully buy in the same area as its not messing about with the kids schooling so much and the prices in Aldinga are very appealing.

Oooh well, the search continues......

Ta again,

We're not there yet but we have a have a rental in Aldinga Beach - told it's about 45 mins to city. Through PIA were told Aldinga PS was not so good so we have our boys registered in Willunga PS and HS. I know of a 4 bed rental coming up in Aldinga Beach. PM me if you want more details.

Looking at most of the responses on here is it fair to say that the majority of people work in the CBD.

Are the various suburbs mainly residential or do they have shopping centres etc.

I'm just trying to get an idea of where i will be able to find work when i come out
