Is there any work for carpenters/trades people?

Hi all just got off the PomsinOz site and feel pretty deflated. People have been out of work for weeks with no job in sight (Brisbane and Perth). Is there any work out there. What's the building Industry like in Adelaide? I know from previous research that Adelaide does have a steady growth and is not as affected as the rest of Oz or so we're led to believe. How are all the builders etc getting on? Is there a massive downturn or is Adelaide safe? My husband and I are both 'go getters' so we're not the type to sit around but is there anything to 'go get'? We make calls daily (or should I say nightly) to all and sundry all over Adelaide and send emails constantly but nothing concrete as yet. Thanks Guys! A job offer would be fab if anybody knows of anything lol!!!
