    Hi

I have one in the primary school at Blackwood and one at the secondary, both schools seem to do a fair amount of sport with lots of out of hours clubs, my OH runs one the the soccor teams at the primary school and they are always looking for new kids to join, they have mixed sexed teams here. I would recommend both schools, mine are very happy there, just ask if there is anything else you want to know, Gina

I am sending my daughter who is 11 to Blackwood Primary too. I emailed them and they said to fill in the application form, which you can download from their website, and when we arrive to make an appt to see the head. Amber can then start the day after!! Take a look at their website it is very good. Something like blackwoodps.com.au or .gov.au. A google search will find it for you, this is how I found it

There is a bike track in Hawthorndene near Apex Park and there is a skate park right next to Blackwood High School. There are probably others that I am unaware of. There is a bigger bike track (I am meaning bmx type jumps and ramps) in the southern park lands.

Blackwood High School has a specialised Netball programme and I believe runs extensive sports. They have the Blackwood recreation centre on site and this is the school gym as well as being open to the public.

Personally I would wait until you get here to enrol and look around personally, to a few schools - things in the first person can seem very different than on paper - not commenting on Blackwood particularly, schools in general!

my kids have been at blackwood high for almost 7 months now and my son hasnt done a single sports lesson yet. which i found odd and queried, i was told its because the school year is divided into 2 semisters, he missed the first semister when they had sport and now the new year has started still no sport so must be next semister, but my daughter has had sport lessons the whole time shes been there.

    Hi Sarah

My daughter is also 12 so she may be in the same class if you do decide to send her to Blackwood primary, I would agree though that it is best to look around once you arrive before definetely making your decision. It would be great if she did go to Blackwood though as we could do with another good player in the soccor team! It is a good school, but it depends what area you decide to settle in. When do you hope to be over? Have a look at the webiste, Gina
