BBC i Player.Any cures?

I Cant watch BBC i Player,as we are outside the UK.IP Address is known to them,any way around this problem i wonder?

Nope, a few really "Naughty cures " were dreamt up imagined.

 

I'm not telling you at all to use PhProxy via Firefox at all ,it may be illegal;)

Seems Tyke has already mentioned it, but he's right. You need to use a proxy server based in the UK, that way all your internet traffice will be relayed through that IP address. Hope that makes sense.

Hi, I have build a proxy server based on linux for my in-laws, so they can watch BBC from abroad.

I am actually on my way to Oz now and will test BBCi from here via our proxy. You will also need a router based in the UK.

If my test is positive I do a write up on how to build a proxy in PIA.....

Can make IE a bit unstable under VISTA, but its worth it.

just an update.

I just tested our proxy from Oz and it works very well.

If somebody is interested in building your own I am very happy to write a quick manual.

All software is free if you use linux (like the ubuntu distribution and "squid" as the proxy server app).

Any old PC will do the job, but you will need a friend in the UK who is willing to host the machine.

 

On the hand the uktelly.tv site seems to be a good alternative.
