Hi

we are moving further south near Hallett Cove....as from the 1st April!

Not long until your flights now.....im sure you will find a place that takes pets....im not sure if ours does although looking on the ad on realestate it doesn't say no pets like alot of them do, and it's big enough as think OH would have got one if Id have given in!!!... It maybe an idea to email some agents in areas you will be looking at, as we have friends that came at the same time and they really struggled to find a place that was pet friendly...they ended up paying over the odds really for a house alot smaller that ours.... but that may have just been bad luck at the time they were looking for a rental....have you got holiday accomodation when you arrive so the preasure is for a bit?

We bought a cheap tv and sat watching it on garden furniture for a week until our shipping arrived.....it was fine although i was pleased to get a sofa in the end!!!

Well to throw a spanner in the works we live in Greenwith which is 10 mins from the hospital you are talking about and personally I wouldnt live in Semaphore and commute to Elizabeth everyday! Not sure how so many do it in 30 mins I would of said it was longer than that, but i dont do it daily! We head to Semaphore at the weekends to walk the dog, and it is a fairly clear drive as others have said but I think its a long one to do daily and especially on shifts!

There are so many really nice areas alot closer to Elizabeth to look at, BUT at the end of the day its you that has to do the drive and make the decision!

Rental wise think as others have said the Australians are a very dog friendly society when it suits them but when it comes to rentals think you will have to play the they will be outside card!!

Good luck with what ever you decide, those telling you to calm down is so much easier said than done when you are sitting in your position, having come through to the other side it all looks so much easier!

Good luck!

Hi

Not sure if you'll be reading this having just arrived, but if you do, have a look at the Socialising section and perhaps you can come along and join some of us for a drink this side of town on 15th April? Hope you've arrived safe and well!

Welcome,

what is the name of the hospital your going to be working at? Not to sure where there is best to live in & around Elizabeth but I would recomend somewhere near Gawler, its a nice place and not to far to travel for work plus house prices are fairly cheap there as its not close to the city. As to the furniture the is an IKEA near the airport which is always cheap plus we've brought some stuff from a place call Adelaide Furniture and Electrical which is on Port Rd in Mile End (http://www.adelaide-furniture-electrical.com.au/) who do new and second hand stuff and even deliver on Sundays!

I hope that helps & if you get a spare minute & you want to maybe we can get a coffee sometime

Cheers

Hi, we are from Birmingham too!! Which part are you from?? We live in Gawler. Didn't like it at first as i was used to a busy town. Gawler is a country town. It's grown on me now. We are renting at the mo but when we can afford to buy we will move to Evanston Gardens, just down the road from Gawler. We have 2 children, girl 11yrs and a boy 3 in March. Well you would have arrived now so all the best. Happy house hunting!! Donna
