Most schools start about 8.30 or 8.40 for registration.

Some school buses pick you up from your door but most buses to get you to school are just the normal buses.

Schools have school uniform but some are gross. Some schools have brown and cream uniform, others have burgundy and black, or green and white, or blue and yellow or purple and yellow and plack!!!

Most primary schools start somewhere between 8.45 and 9.00am and finish between 3.00 and 3.30pm. There is a break mid morning called Recess and a break for lunch. Packed lunches are the go cos there are no school lunches. Some schools may have a canteen where you can buy soup or a meat pie/ pasty, drinks , rolls etc. At a lot of schools this is called a lunch order which has to be put in in the morning.

Uniform here in summer is either a dress or shorts and polo shirt. Girls can wear either, but by around 10 most girls just wear the shorts n shirts. For winter schools have a combination of track pants, windcheaters, polo shirts, hoodies and sometimes a skirt or tunic for girls. Here is the list from the school my kids went to. You dont need all of it, it's mix and match. The kids wear trainers to school usually and don't change for PE.

This usually has all the yr7s names on the back and the yr, eg 2009.

Only country kids get picked up by school buses. kids in towns and cities have to make their own way to school, either by walking, riding their bike or being driven. Some kids may catch a normal bus or train if they live a bit further away.

Primary school begins when you are 5 and you start in reception. The highest class in primary is yr 7 when you leave to go to high school for yr 8 onwards.
