Hi everyone, having never been to SA but seriously considering it for our new home (fingers crossed) we wondered if you guys could give your personal views of life in adelaide? we have looked at the web cams and google earth and you tube and the SA migration site, but some personal experiences would be great to hear? maybe cover things such as, weather, things to do, adelaide city and what its like to walk around? the people etc, we are just trying to get a feel for it which as you all know is hard just from the internet, if anyone has been to brisbane you could compare them as we were there last year? we would be really grateful for any replies

thanks kelly n jamie x

First off i havent been anywhere else so I can't compare......we love Adelaide , the city (center) is small but it still feels like a city you know the buzz as city center has, Jac has just got a job there and loves the vibe the city has. The train trip into town from Noarlunga is 40 mins ish which she says if fine (cheep fair's are a bonus $28.00 buys 10 trips.

The weather makes a huge difference and on the hotter days we still pick the kids up from school and go down the beach even if its only an hour. The social scene is huge out here and you are never short of an invite on the calender. In fact sometimes you have to just say no to have some time on your own as the weekends fly and you end up knackered on a sunday night...!!

Its easy to slip into the " Holiday mode" and forget everyday issues. Life must go on and the crappy bits like work, family rows, kids playing up ....you know what i mean still carry on . Most people would agree that money wise we have taken a step backwards but when we all start off on this mad journey.....earning more money wasn't even an issue, however qualified you might be, expect to have to prove yourself ...!!!!, we came here to give our family a better life and a better country to live in .....in our mind we have come to the right place, the kids will often settle quicker than the parents , dont expect a smooth ride , there WILL be hickups along the way, you will never stop missing friends and family, but its worth it.....

We are a young couple who moved to Adelaide about a year ago...(A YEAR!!)...and we love it! It is such a nice place to be in....very easy to move around and cheap public transport!!

Alot of younger couples/ppl go to else where in Oz..but we can always find plenty to do here and have no shortage of friends here....as Graham said sometime you just cant fit everything into a weekend!
