Anyone fancy a trip out on the boat tomorrow? Tuesday 12/05/09

I've a spare place out in metro waters.

Martin (Heaps Good is coming out with me)

    Weather good and calm.:)

Launch O'Sullivans Beach Ramp before 10.00am and return at 3.00pm.

1 only, not bothered if you have not fished before. If you have rods - bring em'

Boatie etiquette = Chip in for bait and fuel costs.

If ya get sea sick you'll have to stay out until we return!

PS - no bananas in the pack up - it's unlucky!

Very safe boat and I'm very safety minded!

    PM me.

    Hi

My husband is gutted we are not there yet as he would jump at this opportunity. He loves fishing and is even packing some basics in our limited luggage!!!

He has just finished packing his precious rods into plastic piping so that they do not get damaged en-route!

We will be there 5th June so if you have any free places after then, you would make his day!

Hope you have a successful day out

    Hayley

    Well guys....

    Looks like no takers tomorrow.

Too Easy - if ya do want to come out - a bag of cockles would not go amiss?

    Any late replies welcome

Must admit I don't go out much on the weekends though - too busy on the ramps.

Can do without "Ramp Rage" - it does exist.

But if I get a spare slot I'll give ya a shout.

It'll be a pleasure ,love to take new folks out and watch their look of wonderment:notworthy:

    Here ..Martin.

Might do some trolling for Snook tomorrow - 1 metre long - all teeth and attitude!

I would have loved to have done this if I had seen this earlier, at a loose end just now while Im looking for jobs etc. Used to love fishing, but never got any good at it (never caught a single fish, even on expensive organised deep sea fishing!!) If you plan another one of these trips any time soon keep me in mind?

    Had a ball today.

As usual Heaps Good was great company - what's not to like about such a positive bloke!

    Not a big catch day.

We went up from O'Sullivan's Beach to a little spot I have at Brighton.

Martin had the helm at 45 k's most of the way.

Only two King George Whiting and a couple of Squid taken there, both by Martin..

It's normally a better spot but today was not the day.

We came back onto another spot a few K's out from Hallett Cove that can produce small Snapper.

    Bang! A nice 48 -50cm one hooked up (perhaps 4 - 5lbs)

Great fun pulling him up as he was on my lighter Whiting gear.

He got his own back and spiked me in the knee when I had him in the boat.

One of my better local Snapper - woohoo!

Martin bagged a wrasse thingie nicknamed Smokehouse Cod - teeth worse than Dracula!

It was getting a bit bouncy by this time and we both said if anyone who was prone to seasickness was out they would have heaved by then.

I hooked on some thing huge,he ran and bent the rod in two, unfortunately he bust off with an almighty twang! Could have been a shark but not sure,Shame I'd have liked to have seen him - but cut him off if too big.

Tried a bit of trolling on the way back but no takers - I was dying to see a Snook take the lure.

So home and tired but a fun day.

If I get a week day slot free again I'll shout it here.

Normally only a day's notice so I really know the weather will be good.

Thanks for being crew Martin :notworthy::notworthy:

The fishing sounds great! I know its a bit early to ask, but we have booked another holiday to see sister in Adelaide, Dec 09- Jan My brother is a very keen fisherman and would love to take a fishing trip if possible. He is brooding at the minute as this time last year, he was on a fishing trip to Canada!!!! He was also hoping to get to Tasmania for some fishing. It may be too costly for this visit.....although I can see him taking himself off to Tassie if the pull is too strong!! Have you ever fished in Tas?

He would return the favour if anyone fancied some fishing in Ireland where he is a gillie and has a boat and a cottage in Co Donegal.......

    :)
