I've not heard one for the socceroos this year, (although I might be wrong) which is a shame, but I seem to recall when the world cup in 2006 was on, they had a televised competition to come up with a song.

 

I think it might have been a weekly or daily show, and either the audience or a panel got to vote on the favourite ones. There was some good songs aswell, some very aussie, as you can imagine.
