Hi Everyone

 

Got an e-mail from DIAC today, and a letter from the state Director at DIAC to confirm that the 176 SS visa's are definately not being looked at until 2012.

 

The letter did say that DIAC could understand our frustration at just having paid out for our medicals and police checks (Aug), but there is nothing they can do for us, as the rules are the rules!

 

And by the way the CO which we had has now been taken away from us, and we are not to try and contact them, a new CO will contact us when our visa is next looked at.

 

If only it was a joke, then we would have not wasted the money on medicals and police checks that will be useless now by the time they look at the visa..

 

Hope other people are not as frustrated and fed up as we feel today, however we will not give up, and will explore every other option before we give in to waiting until 2012.

Hi Pauline and Neil, so sorry to hear of this news especially having had to fork out on your medicals. :sad:Some other friends of ours were in the same boat but hadn't had their medicals done yet, but they went ahead and done them anyway. They said that they wanted to be actively doing something and are optimistic that things will change sooner, and if they do then they will be ready and have all the boxes ticked so to speak.

 

Keeping our fingers crossed for you guys, just remember it WILL happen, you just gotta hang in there. Hopefully you'll be able to look back on this and say that it happened for a more positive reason like interest rates.

we are in the same position as you, we had our medicals in august too, they requested them though, thats what makes us so bloody angry, because they must have known it was in the pipeline, thanks for the update in information, cant wait till 2012 though cos i wont pull my daughter out of school when she will be doing her GCSEs, so our only other option is to try and find an employer to sponsor my OH (which i think is going to be difficult in this current economic climate), so upset and feel very let down by it all.x

Thats awful, the least they could do is compensate you for the medicals that they requested.
