I have heard that the 2nd installment on a 475 visa doesn't have to be paid, is this true? If so, why do we not need to pay it?

 

I can't find anything about NOT paying it on DIAC website.....

Please forgive my ignorance here. What second installment?

We paid the fee of £911.64 for our Visa subclass 475 upon application and that's it as far as we know!

If we are pay anymore we certainly haven't been told.

On the DIAC website it states the costs of visas. The first installment is $2060, the second is the same again.

The second payment could be in 2 years time when you apply for PR.

No because then you are applying for another visa type. Here is the link - where I see the visa charges are more than when I applied (June)!!

The second installment is only for people that can't speak english. The idea, I believe, is that the money paid will pay for tuition. I know it isn't very clear but it does state it all somewhere. So no second payment for you Jo.

How did you find that out? That's what I heard before, but until I actually see it written somewhere I think I will always have doubts, lol

We have our visa and only paid the first installment so I can guarantee you that it will be the same to you.

The 2nd instalment of the Visa Application Charge for dependents aged 18 years or over with less than functional English must be paid before the visa is granted.
