  1. Hi All

its been awhile since I’ve been on this forum or had to think about visa’s....

Ive been in Oz 13 years now 🙏 my nephew wants to come out & live/work for a year with us...

any update on if visas are still being issued, are people allowed to travel to Oz with COVID??

     Thanks in advance

    claire 😌

  2. All happy and well here. 3 years plus in and still enjoying life in Adelaide.

I use John Lewis, Waitrose, Debenhams, Next, House of Fraser and one or two others and pay for it on my Aus debit card. I get some stuff delivered to a UK address, some to Aus. Never had an issue with any of those.

FWIW I have just done a large John Lewis order and shopped for a heap of kids Christmas presents that were $15 each more from Aus shops and even with shipping at $19 for it all it still came in way cheaper than what I'd have paid for it all here. That is being delivered here to Aus though. I did also order some stuff for my parents and had it shipped to their home in the UK.

Thanks for the reply snifter & cliffy

    will try those sites ?

  3. Hello All

I have not been on here in ages but hope everyone is well & still living the dream here in Oz.

I'm not having much luck with gift buying for xmas this year & I was hoping someone may have some advice to share.

I said I would buy some English gift vouchers for a family member & also a new blender. To save time I thought I would jump onto Tesco uk website & buy them online & get them delivered. But NO! they do not accept Australian postcodes so you can not put in your billing address for a creditcard here in Oz.

Any ideas for getting around this please much appreciated? or companies that do accept overseas creditcards or paypal even?

    Thanks in advance

Trying to get xmas sorted Claire

  4. Hi all,

My parents are visiting soon & asked if could get cheap package deals, you know the sort that includes flights, hotel etc. So thought would ask you all........Does anyone know names of any companies that do this?? Or are you best leaving it to last minute & just going on the net & finding it all out urselves??

    Thanks in advance

  9. Hi there,

Have to be honest here, actually had to ask OH lol!

He replied, 'works on all types of cranes, often whatever he gets sent to repair or service'

Works for Crane services & they seem to have numerous contracts

Used to work on power stations, repairing pipes & leaks, machining etc back in UK but returned to spanners here at the moment.

    What do you work on?

  10. Hi there,

We've been in Oz 2 years now, brought a house at Fairview Park, tea tree gully absolutely love it, very green, established & beautiful.

40 mins from the city, 30 mins from Semaphore beach.

My OH Mechanical fitter works on cranes at Wingfield seems to be lots of industries there, 30 mins drive away.

We arrived here no jobs, sold house, worried how the kids would cope, all fitted into place, kids adjusted better than me & loved it from day one.

Sure all will be well with your move, good luck :wubclub:
