  1. hello

my story is different, my parents emigrated here to Adelaide with three children who have now grown up and we were placed in flats close to Elizabeth, thankfully for me my mum and dad built a house at Athelstone. If you was to speak to SAPOL (south australia police) and ask if they thought you should move there i am confident they wouldn't recommend it. Crime, drugs, domestic violence, umeployment, homelessness, poverty to say are a few of the problems.

Adelaide is an awsomeplace and check out rental properties in Woodcroft, Seaford, Lockleys, Hallet Cove, Old Reynella, Bridewater, Mt Barker, McLaren Vale, Paradise, Highbury.

  2. Hi,

Just thought as summer is with us with vengeance and the main reason for alot of us migrants on this forum is the beautifull beaches of Adelaide. bearing in mind the large influx of Brits to the southern suburbs. Who would like a meet up at Moana beach in february ???? FAMILY'S AND DINKYS ALL WELCOME ( i hate that abreviation but didn't know how else to say it to save any confusion !!!)

It could be either weekend of sat 21st or 28th of Feb ???

I will bring a small gas bbq and don't mind cooking and drinking all afternoon so all you will need to bring is your snaggs/bread /booze and bodyboards !!!!

    Hands up if interested ???

sounds good, Moana is an awesome spot, count me in

  3. it really is awesome Catherine

amazing to see all the candles alight. You can take your own candles but they are also at the door as you go in. You will need a rug and possible little chairs if you have them, and if you get there after 6 it is difficult to find space to sit. We go down around 4 ish with food and drinks!

    enjoy

  4. Hi, we're moving out in mid to late Feb. It is quite a sudden move, my husband only having been out late Oct for an interview, therefore we have not had months to plan, have go sees etc. My husband will be working in Newton, and we were wondering the usual...............what are the good areas around to live in; my husband is prepared to commute for approx 45mins, 1 hour max, as he will not always be office bound. I have two young boys, so would like to be near parks, pools etc.

Also, my eldest has just started primary school here in UK, he will be 5 in April, will he be able to start school ?

Finally, what are the good primarys in the area, I don't seem to be able to find anything like Ofstead to get an idea of ratings?????????????????can anyone advise.

Thanks so much, no doubt there will be more questions!!

    hi

I would look at the school terms first, (happy to get you the 2009 school dates)

The public school system in Adelaide is very much align with the socio demographic of the area and Newton is a well established, good area.

From newton you could go to Athelstone, Highbury and Newton

And its only a short bus ride to the city.
