  1. Don't be frustrated, i haven't travelled outside Australia since i arrived i still provided my CO with international police certificate. All you need to do is start the process and if u notice that its getting closer to 28 days, show evidence that you did try to get it like any payment invoice, appointment with ur embassy etc. Then ur co can decide to wave it depending on the time frame, remember sometimes they don't even open the files after 28 days but to be onna safe side start the process. You are already in the finishing line.

  2. So why they did not ask for those docs when the co was assigned on first place??

I have written to them let's c what happen. I called the complaint team and they said i updated change in circumstances thats why. I told the guy that was what immigration asked me to do if theirs any changes and i also informed him that my wife cannot be granted my visa because she doesn't have 489, she got a residency in Australia and he asked me to write to my case officer and any reply i should now contact the complain team

  4. Hi@887me, wondering what happens about the Medicare if we do not get the visa in one year? Can re-apply for Medicare?

The truth is once u apply for a permanent visa, you will no longer get medicare refund from ATO-tax office. So if you don't get ur visa in one year then obviously they will have to extend your interim card.

  5. You can get your visa within 3 months if your documents are complete. 10-20 or 30% can be completed early. As the number of months increases the rate of cases decreases. Everyone is different. I was also asked polio certificate which i used during 489. I have never left Australia since then. I call the immunisation clinic and health direct. I was told polio vaccination last for 10 years as an adult unless you have a contact with someone affected by polio which wasn't the case. So I had to provide the latest vaccination certificate.

  6. Hi all, I spoke with immigration Extensively couples of days ago. Firstly we all need to understand that 887 is not on the priority processing list even though it had an initial time frame of 6 months. The guy i spoke with told me that they are not meeting up with the 6 months service standards thats why it was increased. 75% of cases to be finalised by 7months while 90% by 10months. You can only make a complain once you hit 10 months and 1 day.

Another thing he mentioned is that if you have any job offer from any Australian government agencies, you can ask the HR team to issue you a letter stating they require your service but need you to be permanent resident and with the letter contact immigration and they will grant your visa on compassionate ground.

The service standards of 7-10 months will be reviewed monthly it can increase or reduced depending on the percentage of cases pending.

I am 6 months and a day, I know how we all feel. I have missed 2 offers cos of my visa status. Immigration and prison job but i wasn't able to get a letter from the HR. Lets believe in God and keep our faith Alive. Bless you all. We will all get our grant

  7. hi, i wonder while we are waiting for the 887 visa, can we still leave the country? We need to go outside the country for a couple of weeks but we are worrying that the CO will put our application on hold.

You can travel and your application won't be placed on hold. If you are granted a visa, you will receive pre-grant email requesting you to come back to Australia because 887 visa demands the visa to be granted while in Australia. All you need to worry is if you are on bridging visa A you may have to get another bridging visa that will enable you to come back to Australia. But if you current visa is still active, u don't need to worry.

This is based on my research and information from immigration and other individual. You can also research further for your own perusal.
