Hi Su89. I really appreciate your reproach about the way I express myself. We only grow with criticism, not compliments.

Just don’t get the wrong impression that my life is a walk in the park. I work hard since I got in Australia, 10 hours a day, mon-sat. There was moment when I didn’t have money to pay my bills and had to “beg” for a short-term loan (without the PR, it’s almost begging).

It was never easy. After almost 3 years I am in a much better situation, but it’s not easy.

I just have a positive mind set. Instead of complaining that without PR I need to pay (expensive) child care for one daughter, I’m glad that the boy is at school for free. (Once you apply for 887 you can enrol them at the school). My daughter is going twice a week because I cannot afford put her every day. A PR will solve this problem but I’m not dying for it.

The glass is always a half full for me and I had the intention to bring some of this energy to the forum. I saw one or two guys that were silent followers and now start to interact to agree or disagree with this discussion. That is very nice.

This forum is (was) a little grim with people suffering from waiting periods. I just want to show that it hasn’t to be like this. There are many people that applied for 887 and are living without stress whilst waiting, but maybe they don’t feel comfortable in express it here. (because everybody is just complaining).

I haven’t visit my home country since then, but just it's because I cannot afford. The 489 allows you to travel anytime.

How many of us here have friends or relatives trying to immigrate? Probably in student visa or so. Get temporary job, cash payment. Dreaming, only dreaming about applying for the 489. We have the 489, not bad, now we have applied for 887. We are almost there.

“No matter how bad you think your life is, it is someone else’s fairy tale.”

Positive mind!! It's how I roll.

    True Mate !

    This is everyone's story .

different people have different capacities of enduring stress.

staying positive is the only key to stay calm. 100% with you. ?

We need positive vibes around us. True.

But being human there are times we give us, we stress, we panic , we break - we weep, those times all we need is little bit of relief and strength to get back in track and keep the head up.

    All good mate !

Hope we get a grant shower soon to cheer up everyone !!

    100% agree.

I'm coll because I have an excellent job, live in best city in australia (Adelaide) and the PR will not change too many things in my life. It's not the same for everyone. Your are right.

I'm just waiting the PR to buy a house, but I don't get crazy. It will happen, 3-4 months early, 3-4 months later. While that, I enjoy the life.

Anyway, we knew it was not easy. We cannot complain about officers that are doing their job. Some people write here as they are being tortured by the evil australian government. But they are just doing their work "by the book".

Hi George, I do agree with some of your points. But this forum is something that relieves people who are waiting and helping when they need help. Sharing experience.

As you said not everyone is the same and you never know what life will throw you at the next minute. there are some waiting to PR to move to a bigger city - some to buy a house- some to have kids- some to get help for their kid's child care - some to get the peace of mind- some to visit home country first time after 2 years - It's lot more complicated than your story .

You are blessed with what you have in life - happy for you.

Let's not make this forum a battlefield as we all are on the same boat - just waiting to move on .

Little empathy and understanding would make a big difference !

    Hey guys

i have been a silent follower of this group for a while. I applied on 27/1/2018 (in spreadsheet i am coming as "SN") and was contacted today. CO: Adam

We were required following documents and i really need you guys assistance on this as i am not entirely sure what additional info to be provided!

    For my husband they require:

    1. Further evidence to support two years residency in specified regional area and one year full time employment.

    2. A revised typed form 80, fully completed and signed with accurate employment and international movements. Requested to include employers full business and trading names and ABN.

    3. Police Clearance Certificates.

I have been asked to provide the following:

    1. An updated form 80 typed with full and accurate information

    2. Police Clearance Certificates

    3. Evidence of English language ability (IELTS)

My main concern is IELTS. i have already provided letter from my educational institute as an evidence of functional English. Moreover, as i was the primary applicant of visa 489, i attached my previous IELTS copy for that as well. Does it mean that i need to take another test?

The other thing i  am not sure of why they put so much emphasis on accurate employment and international movements. we double and triple checked all the details to make sure they were accurate. In addition, international businesses do not have ABN.

For 1 year work requirement, we submitted all payslips, employment agreements, PAYGs for almost 2 years. Not sure what else can we submit to them?

We have lived for one year with my sister and i put letter from her stating that we lived with her for the specified period along-with her original lease agreement. We already provided them with our lease agreement as well for the rest of the stay in Australia. Again not sure what else can i submit??

    Thanks heaps!

Thought I will add something to this one.

We got our PR mid July (applied 11th Jan ) and had certain things similar to your case.

With regard to employment - Iam not sure about international company and ABN but you can add super statements, notice of assessments, bank statements to show salary debiting.

With regard to accommodation with sister - we also lived with our brother for 8 months - you can certainly submit a stat declaration . We did the same . Also any address proof letters will be helpful.

With regards to IELTS- I was the main applicant for 887 and my husband was the dependant - to proof his English we submitted his degree certificate , transcript which clearly stated that medium of instruction was English .

With regard to form 80 - that's crucial - I filled it and got my husband to check and got someone else to check again to make sure everything is correct- double triple checking is well worth given the weight they are giving to form 80.

With above- I ended up with a direct grant - I know not everyone's case is similar - but hope this helps a bit

  7. Thank you all ...

     - here is my story

We were on 489 and husband was the main applicant in 489 - In 887 I was the main applicant as I was in the same job for the all the time and for me it was easier to compile docs.

First 8 months we were in a shared place so only had a stat dec and all letters as address proof (from ato, bank, bupa, super)

We went overseas for 2 weeks and stayed 2 weeks to compensate that time just to be on safe side.

    We submitted

Address proof and stat dec for shared accomadation

Rent agreement. bond lodgement doc, electricity , water bills for second address

Letter from employer , contract, payslips (Iam on a weekly payroll - so 1 or 2 for each month), super statements, tax assessments, group certificate, work hour summary,

AFP and police clearance from home country

Form 80 for me and husband

degree certificate and transcript for partners English competency

Marriage certificate , passport , birth certificates

I applied via an agent and I imported my application and checked if everything was there and kept nagging him till he attached missing bits.

At the end it all went well and this was a pleasant surprise - I was only hoping for an update by mid next week

    My CO was Dat.

    Hope I didnt miss anything.

I will stay around to see your grants.

I love that genuine happiness when we get everytime we see someone gets a grant.

All 3rd timers second timers including Russki, Ricky deftown - fingers crossed.

All freshers that were on the queue before me - I bribed them ? lol

No peeps - yours should be on the way - For sure they should be working on your files.

Well - Have faith and never lose hope or let waiting over rule your optimism. Its a hard journey - but we will get there

Thank you peeps. I do love this forum and all hopeful souls

Thanks... Just trying to get a clue ... ?

What I feel is they have already opened all files at least up until mine ..

Depending on the complexity - may be I got grant earlier- my case its just me and my husband and same full time job over the years .

Good news is at least we know that they have opened files till 11/01 - they are not catching flies as we thought ?

So we can hope tomorrow or within the week we will hear the update for all who are waiting (first timers ) - from Nelakash to you..

Fingers crossed and we will have more grants tomorrow.

Atleast we can have the peaceful thought that they have not paused processing again and we know that they are working on our files !

No we stayed here up until now. So I used the link and heres what it says. Should I include a Colour photocopy of my passport with a stamp of date of arrival on it?

From and including: Tuesday, 2 February 2016
To, but not including Friday, 2 February 2018

    Result: 731 days

It is 731 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date

Or 2 years excluding the end date

I think it's as of the application date - which means including the application date - just tried to read other forums to see if any more info.. but all says 2  years i.e 730 days - but logically shouldn't it be including the application date?

  12. Thats news to me.. Iam also on 489 visa.. In my visa I have the same conditions as the main applicant.. So as far as I know conditions are same as both main applicant and dependant on the same visa.. then again I might be wrong.. I will also try to find more info.. meanwhile what does it say in your 489 visa grant?

    Hi Bro
I am dependent as i have no work condition as per my visa. i also called twice immi when i moved to austalia and they said the same thing. Although canberra is a regional too but main applicant (wife) is working in desginated area as per her visa condition.

    Hi Guys

I am new here.As i am dependent on 489 and my visa condition says"Nil" as my partner's condition is" she must live and work in regional. We both live in regional (queanbeyan (NSW) 5km from Canberra ACT) but i work in Canberra. I know that she will be a main applicant for  887 in  November. will my work in different state have any impact on the application. Moreover my wifes employer provided accommodation and utility bills as we live in motel on site. but on her group  certificate never has any info about these living benefits .does anyone have any idea about fringe benefit tax?

    Thanks

    JT

    Hi JT,

    Welcome to the forum .
