  1. Guys this will be my last post in this forum, just want to mention few things based on my own experience and study:

    1) moving from one region to another is not an issue at all as long as you live/move within regional areas. We moved nsw regional to qld regional

    2) doing 2 or more job to make 35 hrs weekly is not an issue at all

    - any 52 weeks during 2 years in regional is ok

    3) if you have baby born after 489 Grant or after applying 887 and need to do medicals, do not wait co to contact you

create hapid for 189/190 and do medical

    this is perfectly ok

    4) update your afp if older than 12 months and overseas one if you have traveled, do not wait  cos to contact you for this

I have mentioned about English for spouse in my previous post.

donot stress out but provide/update documents, ready for direct grant,  you will be okay

    good luck

    Congratulation alot.

but you are still in processing time.

Mine application is 17/07/2018 On complaint they said you are still in 90% of processing time. means after 3 days from today i will be completing 19 months in total. then will complaint again.

My last complaint was in December, generic answer on first few, second last requesting to keep minimum contact with department, last one saying no further reply will be given unless you provide new evidence to your claims, this matter is now closed by department

    so,

better not try to complain before your application cross 90%current processing time, it’s just waste of your and departments time

i strongly suggest to complain if your application pass 90% processing time

Hi 0, Since you are studying migration course, how does it define spouse's living requirement ? my wife went back to have our baby delivered (confinement) and will be here by the time when we are going to apply 887. 🙄

One of the applicant must meet primary criteria(2yrs living and 1 yr full time work).

if your spouse is not the  main applicant to fulfilling primary criteria and living overseas for valid reason, there shouldn’t be any issues

    Grant

    late post

got grant on 11/2/20 @6:52 pm

applied 6/8/18- 2 applicant no kid

    first contact 29/10/19

alot complaints but didn’t work...no point making complaints if your processing time is not expired(above current processing time), i mean if it is under current processing time.

    good luck all

    Some information regarding spouse English

    1) 4.5 each band with overall 4.5

    2) if you have submitted valid English(ielts/pte/other) at the time of application— you are ok, no need to stress

    3) if you submitted English evidence after application, test given after application, if you just have 4.5 each with overall and if that test report is more than one year when co looks your application - they will ask new English test/evidence.
in such situation give another test and be ready
do not mix up the things and blame co, they look legislations and legislation says

    - either at the time of application or at the time of processing your English must be valid

if you don’t take action, it’s your fault.

i am about to complete my migraition agent course and I have learned it from there.

my husband was sick that’s why i paid $4895 as 2nd vac instead of ielts/pte to speed up process.

it is purely upto you guys

    good luck

I did complain to ombudsman. Please check their standard response below .

I refer to your complaint to the Ombudsman about the Department of Home Affairs (the department).

I understand you are unhappy with the departments processing of your Skilled regional (subclass 887) visa application.

    Our Role

The role of the Ombudsman’s Office is to assess whether an agency appears to have acted in accordance with the relevant legislative and administrative requirements, has given appropriate consideration to relevant information when making a decision and, in all the circumstances, the decision made or action taken was not unreasonable.

The Ombudsman cannot require or direct that an agency take a specific action or make a specific decision. It is not our role, nor do we have the power to substitute a new decision or compel an agency to take any action.

    Complaint consideration

In regards to the time taken to process your 887 visa. Information available to the public on the department’s website is that the anticipated processing time for visa applications is 90% of applications to be determined within 17 months. With this in mind, 10% of applications can take longer than the 17 month timeframe to process. The department further advises that processing times are impacted each month by changes in application volumes, seasonal peaks, complex cases, referrals to external agencies and incomplete applications. This would reflect the increase in timeframe advised by department.

All visa applicants are required to satisfy character, health and security clearances. The department is unable to approve an application until it is satisfied the applicant meets the identity, integrity and character requirements and under Australia’s migration laws, there is no timeframe for the department to finalise its assessment of these matters. Some clearances are referred to agencies external to the department for consideration, and once the referral has been made to the external agency, the department is not able to finalise the application until the clearance is received. Please note, our Office is not able to ask the department to prioritise applications ahead of others or to finalise applications when it is still undergoing processing.

Our Office is also aware that there may be extended processing times for visa applications. We are treating the matter as a systemic issue and we do not normally investigate individual complaints. This is because the extended processing times are affecting a number of applicants and is not limited to any individual application. For this reason, we will generally not investigate complaints about processing timeframes.

    Bad luck!

when did you complain to commonwealth ombudsman?

All they are saying is NOTHING WE CAN DO except WAIT

    Hi,

Firstly congratulation for your visa grant

    I applied on 17 July 2018.

They asked medical for my son in September 2019 and was provided to them and it was all good.

but still waiting. its now more then 18 Months.

    any suggestion..

Have you complained? I think you better complain today, if they increase processing time you will be within processing time

    Morning all,

I applied for 887 in Oct 18, and uploaded all documents. I have question to the experts:

    - My wife got Cert III in spoken and written English from TAFE in Oct 18. Is this enough as proof of functional English?🤔

    Thanks

Have you got your pr? Or any contact from department ?
