  1. Fantastic opportunity to work in an easy going barber shop. Come and join us at Fatboy Trims in Gawler if you are a talented and outgoing experienced barber. We offer award rates with possible bonuses. Must have the right to work in Australia. This is a great opportunity for the right person so if you think you've got what it takes send a pm.

  3. Hi

Im looking at moving to Adelaide in the next 18 months with my wife and 2 young children.

Can anyone give me advice good or bad on Paralowie/Burton areas. Im after good schools and streets or areas to avoid etc.

    Thanks:realmad::realmad::realmad:

If you are looking at the northern suburbs - either Golden Grove or Craigmore are nice and there are also a lot of rentals in Munno Para West (brand new houses). Anne B is right, Paralowie and Burton have a high crime rate - same as Elizabeth and Smithfield. We lived in Craigmore and found it a lovely suburb and Golden Grove can be expensive. There is a good school in Craigmore too (Trinity).

  4. I applied on line, with Adecco it was for a particular job which didn't come about but they got me temp work elsewhere. But with Westaff I applied on line and then got called in for the usual testing, just to see what programs you can use(they give you a little test). The Westaff I went to was in Mawson Lakes but I do know they have other branches. The girl I dealt with was Skye Noack, she was very helpful. As Kangomik says, if nothing is coming through you do have to ring them, just to remind them you are still available, ie. Westaff got me a position at the Magill Training Centre and then with SAPOL and Adecco haven't rung me since even tho I didn't tell them that I had something. So if you don't keep in contact they assume you are working elsewhere. If you need any numbers let me know.

  5. Hi Adelaide in July

Not sure if this will be any help but I signed on with Adecco and got some very good temp work. I then signed on with Westaff and after just one assignment they got me a contract with SAPOL. Seek.com is just too frustrating and I wasn't getting any replies at all.

    Good luck.

  6. Any one got any ideas of how you actually manage to get to interview stage. I have been sending off my resume and covering letters but no one even wants to give me a chance over here. I am registered with Hays and one job they offered me went on hold and the other they are still waiting for the clients even though after being for an interview I was told the job would start this Monday. I really want to work but am not being given the opportunity.

    Please help.:arghh:

Just thought I would let you know, you're not the only one. Have been applying to at least one job every day for a month with absolutely no response whatsoever.

  7. Hi Barry

All the shipping company's supply you with them, most deliver free of charge if you are close to their routes. There is Anglopacific and Excess Baggage which do door to door.

All a bit mind numbing, trying to get everything sorted.

    Good luck with your move

  8. Hi folks

Trying to work out who to use to send just a few pieces, ie Wii, all the photos, coats and some personal bits. Voovit have a really good price although not delivered to your door.

Has anyone used them and do you collect your boxes from Port Adelaide?

    Cheers

    Caroline

  9. Hi

Feel a bit cheeky doing this, but, OH is fantastic Barber and we are coming over in September. He will be looking to rent a chair near West Lakes/Semaphore. So if anyone has a chair they need to rent out please let me know. He has been in the trade 20 years and all his clients here say that he will be really missed. Also if you need a great cut then lookout for Lee you won't regret it!!! LOL

    Cheers

    Caz

Hi All. Have been here three years now and not looking back. Lee is now in business in Gawler. He has set up his barber shop and its called Fatboy Trims. We are looking for someone experienced to come and join him. Guaranteed hours for the right experienced barber looking to work in a friendly atmosphere with no late night (as not in a shopping centre) and early finish Saturday. Please pm us if you are interested.

  10. Hi back clan

We live in Brighton and are in the same position - visa granted and house for sale. Just wanted to say hi to a fellow wannabe ozzie down here in the south. We are going to validate our visa next week. Need to sell the house for it to be permanent, don't want to rent it out as I work in the industry and have seen the state some people leave the places in.

Good luck for your house sale and the move.
