Hi I am due to apply for my 887 Visa in next two months,
I am also in the process of getting married, is there any possibility, my fiance is onshore on a student visa. Is there any possibility i can apply for 489 subsequent entrant visa for my wife and based on bridging A for 489, when i apply for my 887, i can include her in my application. Also. does she has to be in regional or can she be in Metro still attending her uni while her student visa is valid ?
Please advise
Having read this: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-regional-887#Eligibility, I believe you can include her when applying for 887, even she'd be on bridging visa. And no, she doesn't need to be in regional given you're the main applicant.

Still haven't heard from my agent
But I have applied for the AFP check.
I have also started compiling everything again so I don't get a second request from them. I have:
- Personal bank Statements showing received wages
- Superannuation statements issued (I went to the ATO website and it was there!!
- I added invoices of some items I bought and got delivered to work for 2018, 2019 & 2020, hopefully this works? Wasn't sure what else to add
- Notice of assessment from ATO and
my PAYG/Group Certificate.
Please guys let me know if I have missed anything or should add anything else. Thanks
something else I could think of might be the customer copy of tax return or at least a tax return summary which you could find from mygov then ato portal. Those two would give more details than notice of assessment and mostly importantly, they'd show your employer/payer's name. If im not wrong, notice of assessment itself doesn't show your employer's information.
the invoices for things you bought and delivered to work might not be count as important but adding them wouldn't hurt or cost you anything, so, just add them.
just make sure all the evidences you provide would cover at least a full year period, and it'd be even better if covering more than a year.

I submitted Payslips till the week the agent applied, employment contract & Bank statements plus a letter from my employer mentioning the date I started (I still work there).
They suggested 'evidence may include but is not limited to':
- Personal bank statements showing received wages for claimed period
- Superannuation statements issued by super fund company showing employers contribution throughout claimed period
- Any other evidence can be verify by an independent third party and/or govt. authority
- Notice of assessment issued by ATO
- PAYG/Group certificates ...
Do I have to attach all or just either?
I have 1,4 & 5. My super statement doesn't say my employers name, not sure what 3 is
imo, you should provide them with 1, 2, 4, 5. these are all essential from my understanding. Don't miss any of these. No 3 can probably be ignored if you don't have any.

they are some 28 Feb. applicants got grants as well
lol I love seeing this speed. one-month applicants per week soon they'd clear ALL of the 887 applications.

My lawyer told me that the case officer will notice her if the process has been delayed or paused for any reason. She told me just be patient, from her experience there were several cases got granted 6 months after their first contact.(´ཀ`)
I'd think 6 months is very unlikely to happen to us anymore, as all the case officers have only onshore applications to process. If this speed continues, soon they'd just find they have processed all the applications and there's no excuse to stall anything
I agree though that we'd probably be better off being patient, the last thing we want to see is an agitated case officer. They are all humans after all...

Some intersting news to share:
Veteran Sophorn contacted this morning, asking for more documents.
Specifically Sophorn asked for another AFP because wife's English (also known as) name wasn't on the AFP we submitted originally. Honestly I wasn't aware of this at all when I did our original AFP as I'd never seen someone being required to do this.
Anyway, I think this'd be helpful for anyone else who also uses an Australian name, along with their name on passport, at work or social. Please make sure when you do your AFP, include all the names appeared/mentioned in the documents you'd lodge to immi department.
My application was on 28 Jan 2020 btw.

Hi everyone,
Appreciate if someone could shed some light on this.
I am 489 visa holder who applied for 887 visa in May 2020. My question is if I change jobs or made redundant after applying for 887 visa do I have to inform immigration via form 1221 or any other method that I changed my job or that I have been made redundant.
Also are there any other circumstances that I have to inform immigration after applying for 887.
Thanks so much
no, you don't need to let them know anything about your job change AFTER you lodged your application. the idea is that you only need to let them know you have had full time employment for one year.

Holla ..
I’m in a dilemma.. in relation to working 35hours per week, is it possible to submit payslip and time sheets which reflect a total of 70 to 74 hours, issued fortnightly. For there were weeks that I was fortunate enough to secure 35hours per week for 2 consecutive week...& there were weeks that I had worked 37 hours for the first week followed by 34 hours for the second week of roster ( total of 71 hours over 2 weeks ) ...I’m a Registered Nurse and I do permanent nights. My employment contract, stipulates my working hours as 68 to 76 hours, fortnightly.
My manager is supportive and she tries hard to assign me with extra hours per week in order to meet the requirements of my visa but she is also bound by the acuity of the department( ratio of Nurses assigned to admitted patients).
But there is so much that she can do if the census is low, hence, I’m forced to accept and juggle my hours over 2 weeks.Any fellow applicants experiencing what I’m going through or are there any successful 887 applicants who met with the generosity of CO and was granted visa with an accumulated hours over 2 weeks ( minimum 70 hours ) instead of strictly going by 35 hours per week.
Appreciate your assistance.
I'm not in an exact situation so just my two cents:
I wouldn't be worried about 34 hours per week, the key the immigration department wants to see is whether you are working as a full time employee, but IF you are not, then at least a full-time equivalent. In fact imo if you have an employment contract stating your job is "full-time", you'd be fine.
That aside, the safest option I can think of would be that you wait a little longer and collect enough 35-hours-and-above payslips, and by enough I meant 52 weeks which could mean you'd need more than 26 payslips.

Well each case is diff and it depends on the case officer to take a decision..
As you stayed in Sydney for 3 months due to medical reasons you could either give a stat declaration stating the reason Or wait for another 3 months to complete the regional condition.
I agree, but imo i'd be better/safer to do both - a stat dec (or a letter from hospital if possible) plus waiting for an additional 3 months at the regional area.

Hi friends. I am in a situation and want to know your thoughts and suggestions as I can see there are many helpful and knowledgeable people in this forum. I have applied in March 2020 and I am pretty confident to say that I have provided sufficient documents as evidences as in multiple proofs for a requirement wherever possible) and I am waiting on my Indian PCC to arrive.
I was the primary applicant for 487 and so am for 887 visa. I have provided university letter for my spouse as a proof of functional English. I have provided my employer letter as proof of functional English for myself and I am trying to get in touch with my college in India to get the letter but no one is answering the numbers they have on site. Probably because of the fact the they are closed due to COVD-19. What should I do? I have uploaded my IELTS results from March 2017 and all my degree marksheets that are in English and no other language on them. Will these documents be sufficient?
I can’t accept that fact that I have to spend another 400 bucks on IELTS.
That sounds a tricky one to me as well. I don't feel the COs would be easily accepting marksheets only even those are all in English. I would think the best evidence to their eyes would be the letter from uni clearly stating that "all instructions were in English" something like that, unless you have English exam results.
If I were you I would stick to contacting uni and asking for the letter.

Long time lurker...
Thank you MMM for sticking around and sharing the good news here for us who don't use telegram or facebook
It really looks the case officers are focusing on the old cases where additional documents were requested. It's still good to see them giving much more grants than say the "bad" n old days before April, but it also makes me a bit nervous as my application was in Jan 2020 and they suddenly came to a halt
My rough calculation on the basis of their "speed" before these couple of weeks was about one-month applicants per week, so hopefully after they clear all the backlog they'd resume that speed.
Cheers, and hang in there guys/girls

887 Visa - What's the update?

Wow our cases are so similar!
Applied 28/01/2020, contacted on 29/07/2020, Sophorn asked for AFP to include wife's alias (her Australian name used at work).
Grant today 31/08/2020, CO Wendy!
Also here's our little successful story to share, which I think might help others who are in a similar situation of being self employed:
Wife's the primary applicant and worked as a subcontractor. The documents we submitted as her employment evidence were:
Our evidence of living and other stuff like identify and language ability was nothing special, basically they were exactly what immigration department listed/required.
