Anyone who's interested in meeting up tomorrow night:
A few of us will be at Bank Street Social (BSS) off Hindley St from 5pm (don't worry, we'll be there for a while since a fair few people aren't free until after 6pm).
Would be lovely to meet some new faces.
Also, feel free to bring friends (all poms and non-poms very welcome).
If you've not been to BSS before then I suggest you Google it as it can be a bit covert!!
Look forward to seeing a few of you there!
Sounds great me and my hubby have been here a week and need to speak to others before we kill each other!!!! See you tomorrow

Things are going very nicely thank you. So here's wots next... At mo sat drinking wine by the harbour contemplating life's great adventure when the wife so rudely points out THIS IS NOT A HOLIDAY GET A JOB!!..
shes right of course ( always is..) so off it is tomorrow to get my gas licence sorted out and try to get some poor unsuspecting fool to give me a job . ( will have to go back to school to gain full licence though.) ah! I here you shout "wot about a home to live in ". Sorting that too, but just in case I've kept a couple off rather large boxes handy . Heres hoping week two lives up to week one ......... Tbc.

Who said things would be tough! You actually get to talk to a person when making enquiries.!!! Aussie license done, tax code done , Ambo cover done, Medicare sorted all in less than 2hours.. Public transport is great (and good value) beer is cold(not so cheap!), ....
day 3 is going to be house hunting (between coffee breaks with cake!!)
to to be continued.............

So here it is at last ! The long journey has begun, jut reached singapore and waiting for the connecting flight to adelaide. All feels a bit surreal, all those months of planning . I think I'm gonna feel a bit lost for a while . Need another goal to focus on. Will have plenty of time on my hands until I can get a job so if any body needs a hand with things let me know..

We went ahead and did them around June, I wasn't worried about eating into the 12 months you have to validate or enter australia as we wanted to go as soon as possible, and I thought it would save time
Congrats on your visa! You'll be arriving the same time as us...

Right all you wise and wonderful people ,
we are arriving in November( bit daft as holiday season just about to kick in!!.) and are looking for short term accommodation for 2-3 weeks whilst we settle in and look for a permanent base , needs to be close to transport links and amenities (ie pub!) whilst we have both just turned forty:arghh: we still think were 21, hence looking for more south of France than magaluff , although magaluff prices would be nice,. Any advice on areas to be or to avoid would be great.
looking forward to meeting for a well deserved cold beer.........
p.s no jokes about being forty.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right all , time to put you all to good use ..
arriving in November, ( bit daft as holidays just about to kick off!)however, looking for a place for 2-3 weeks to enable us to hunt for a permanent base , needs to be close to transport links and to amenities (ie pub!). We have both turned forty:arghh: but still only 21 at heart, so want something more south of France than magaluff. Any advice on areas to be, or avoid would be great, and looking forward to meeting you guys for a well deserved beer.!!!!
