just passed first part of vetassess bricklaying practical booked for Feb. Just wondered if there are any other brickies that have sat the test and what job prospects are in adelaide.

hi ya, good luck in your practical,my o/h said it was straight forward enough(this was in july 2008 though)each person has their own square to build their brickwork in,assessor walks round watching and throughout the day each person is called to a 'chat' to answer a few questions about the trade,o/h said it was informal,chatting,not uncomfortable at all.

as for jobs out here,we arrived in oct 2009 and o/h has worked since the 2nd week in,if you're prepared to look there is work out there.

hi, could anyone tell me what type of brickwork they did during there practical test please, any info you be appreciated

build a corner 10 brick high with a raking cut, then we built a pillar which corbelled out two course and then back in.

Fairly simple really you get plenty of time to complete the tasks and if its the same bloke that assessed us it was very relaxed and laid back.
