Changing to full medicare when you become PR

Hi

I was wondering if it is a simple process to swap from reciprocal medicare to the full?. Called the medicare office who said we need to fill in all the paperwork again and take in all our passports, but I thought having done this already for the reciprocal medicare it would just be a case of taking in the grant letter. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please.

Hi, we didn't have to fill out any forms when we went a couple of months ago. We just took along a copy of the visa grant email for each of us and that was all. The lady just took copy's and gave us a new temporary ticket. Our cards arrived shortly after.
