Hello guys,

Just checked the website of TRA today, and found there'll be a big change of trades assessment from this September. For anyone who can meet the criteria now, I will suggest send application now.

From 1 September 2008 it is TRA's intention that a new assessment policy, Migration Assessment Policy (MAP) will replace the current Uniform Assessment Criteria (UAC) as the standards and procedures used to process applications for skills assessment for the purposes of General Skilled Migration.

All applications, including review applications, received by TRA on or after 1 September 2008 will be assessed against the MAP.

(from the website of TRA)

Note! For the current Uniform Assessment Criteria (UAC) click here – up to and including 30 August 2008

Applications received by TRA up to and including 30 August 2008 will be assessed against the UAC.

For for information, please visit

I just feel TRA is really hard to pass....:skeptical:

Oh s**t, oh well, that means we have another 3 years to wait now until we can apply if that change comes in to effect on 1st September 2008. A minimum of 4 years employment :arghh:. The process does seem alot easier that the current vetassess as it look like they will assess you on the documents you send in and don't have to attend a practical assessment. That won't get us down, it just makes us more determined to get there now. OH has worked damn hard to re-train, another few years won't beat us.

Will still be on here everyday keeping an eye on all those waiting any day now to get their visa and to sell their house. Good luck guys .....will be watching :notworthy:
