accomadation on great ocean road

Hi all, we are looking for 1 night accomadation on 29 dec 2009. We have made enquiries at warnnambool but nearly all places are a min 2-5 days. Has anybody had this problem ? We are driving from adelaide to torquay in victoria and are lookin for a place to stay just for one night. Do you think that i will be able to find anywhere closer to the date, as the tourist info are saying that no one will book one night so far in advance. It does not have to be warnnambool. Will i have a better chance a bit further on the road. Any info or advice will be great............cheers....ronnie caines

Try Apollo Bay, there are a few small guest houses there, and it's a very nice wee town. Or if easier, Mount Gambier is about halfway between here and Torquay. Maybe it's just because the time of the year, between Xmas and New Year. Get on google and phone the places direct, instead of the tourism info places? Good luck, and sensational drive, remember to keep eyes on the road, it is very hard not to be distracted.

Perhaps have a look at Port Fairy.

 

Lovely place - kind of a fishing/sleepy village.We stopped overnight in a lovely B&B.

 

Called the Clonmara.

 

Not cheap but a lovely place and the brekkie is to die for!!!!
