British Curry House?

Hi all,

 

Not that I am one of those English people that comes to another country and drinks English beer, eat marmite and watch UKTV. However I do really want an 'English Style' Indian restuarant. We live in the northern suburbs but are willing to travel!

Now you're asking ......... not sure if you'll get exactly what you are looking for in terms of style/range but you could try:

- Indian Brasserie in Gouger St is pretty good

- British India in Morphett St (just round cnr from Gouger) is new with good reports but I haven't been (yet)

- Beyond India in North Adelaide is nice

- Jasmin in Hindmarsh Sq is a bit of an institution with prices to match but still good

None quite like UK curry houses but at least there are some to choose from ....... unlike Mexican restaurants which are an experience to be missed!

I can really recommend the balti house: British style indian cuisine on the goodwood road. It is just like a curry you would get in the UK.

There's another thread on this, do a search for Curry but The Balti House on goodwood road imports the ingredients from the UK and is as close to a British Curry as I've had in 3 1/2 years.

 

Haven't tried British Indian, but the others whilst are ok, do not taste like a curry I know of.
