  1. English test result for primary applicant? maybe they added some new co's for processing and one of them asking for it without realizing it's not required??? anyone know if it's the same co that requested both ajeets and 887 for primary applicants english results? how can we make sure our files are decision ready if they can ask for whatever they feel like asking on a particular day :S
  2. Great article and it def. brought some attention towards 887 in immi department . I don't agree with some of the explanations immi gave sbs about processing delays , 887 applicants already live in Australia and have gone through very strict health , and background checks as pr so they already know us. Many 189 pr applicants has never been to Australia before and apply for 189 from overseas , and have much more difficult overseas employment claims , educational document checks, security checks background checks , health checks to perform and a much larger number of applicants , they have much larger number of applicants and also majority of the visa applications for any visa category is not decision ready, their applications still get processed around 8 months , also to know if an application is decision ready or not they have to actually open files as soon as possible, the issue here is that they take too much time to open files ,by that time even if we lodged a decision ready file at the time of application it will require updated documents by the time co opens it due to departments delay in opening our files , also for some reason a few co's request documents that have been already uploaded in the system and there's no way to directly and efficiently let the co know that the requested information is already there, it wastes an applicants time. More than the applicant's fault in lodging a not decision ready application and immis claims that 8000 applications in processing and that those factors delayed processing times , it's very clear that lack of staff, inefficiency in the department , lack of transparency in visa processing and visa programs are the main issues that delays the processing. If regional needs more people and skills and settling people permanently in regional is so important to government , then why aren't we in a priority processing category? if they can't process 8000 applications efficiently how will they process a much larger number of brand new subclass 191 pr applications when it becomes active in coming years?? I hope they will bring processing times down
  3. https://www.sbs.com.au/language/english/audio/australia-grants-lowest-permanent-visas-in-decade-sol-under-review?fbclid=IwAR3BkroBIyekWy4DMcXqo56smZUjNvY-stl1CKGsn2I8pm6y0GatkOL6fZE Australia grants lowest permanent visas in decade, SOL under review I saw this in sbs punjab a while ago but i don't know the language , anyone here understands it? if so can anyone let know if they speak about 887's?
  4. I use acrobat DC Pro , there is a 7 day trial , i scanned all my payslips (60) , there is a combine files function in there which let you scan multiple files directly from the scanner and then can even rearrange afterwards , All my files after combining were below 5 mb , however it also has a reduce file size function when you go to save my file as stage so if it's more than 5 mb you can use this. I bought a 1 month subscription after the trial and going to use it till im done uploading docs. it was very useful and i don't want to upload identification and any of sensitive documents to an online site
  5. Add me too if you can please , applied 20 August 2019 . Thanks
  6. When uploading documents , is it ok to combine the original and certified / translated documents in to one pdf? for example the original birth certificate and certified translated copy of the birth certificate as one pdf then name it as Birth Certificate - Original & English copy and submit? I have done that to several documents
  7. Hi All, so i have been trying to get media attention towards our 887 unfair processing times and recently asked sbs if they can do a story on this and a journalist called Jarni from sbs has recently got back to me saying that she is interested in discussing about this further. I just submitted my 887 application a few weeks ago therefore my story would not make much attention towards the processing delays as i just started waiting game. If any of you guys who have been unfairly waiting wants to discuss this with her willing to share your journey in a news article please contact her asap , send her your contact details so she will get in contact with you to discuss , if any past 887 members who have been granted the visa but wants to share how unfair the processing time was they can contact her too. "My name is Jarni and I’m a journalist with SBS News. Your email to SBS was forwarded on to me. I am interested in discussing further. What is the best number I can reach you on? Thanks. Jarni Jarni.Blakkarly@sbs.com.au "
  8. my previous employer who is from a different regional state emailed me a copy of the employment reference letter recent;y , it has all the details addressed to dept f home affairs including contact details for more info. in it however for some reason he used a black and white letter head and black pen to sign ( saving printer ink i guess ) and therefore the scanned copy he sent to me through email looks more like a scanned photocopy of the employment letter. I don't have a good work rship with this business so can't go asking for a color one again and he said he'll post me the original it has been 3 weeks and didn't receive it i believe he didn't post it ( save stamp money urgh! ) . Should this be alright to attach as employment reference or do i need to get another one on a colour letterhead ? also the email was sent from the official business email address so if i show this email with the reference letter attachment i received from the employer to a JP should they be able to certify it as a true copy?
  9. send your stories and complains to senator Kristina Keneally too people she's the shadow minister for dep home affairs and citizenship , from obtaining 489 to applying for 887 we had to complete a very difficult journey and our efforts should not go unnoticed and should be valued rather than undermined , Having to put our plans of settling down permanently in Australia for 12 , 16 , 17 , 21 months is very unreasonable and unfair, they are proposing PR benefits for new 491 visa saying that they do not want these provisional visa holders to be disadvantaged compared to PR holders living in metro , what about us? we are not asking for any benefits from day one , we just want our applications to be processed and a decision delivered to us within a fair and reasonable time , we have paid our taxes , have been greatly disadvantaged by having to pass opportunities that could have made our future much more settled , our kids and family members have to put their future on hold or have their freedom restricted when it comes to studying or sometimes deciding a career to pursue , restrictions affect our lives on day to day basis , we have done the right thing , and completed requirements which are very straight forward and if out applications are put on hold not processed within a reasonable time by allocating more just because we are not in priority processing program or just because they would like us to live in regional for a bit longer , that is just so unfair. so send your stories to senator Kristina people , the more of us reach out the more attention we can get towards 887 visa processing delay issue , be respectful and and tell her how this unfair delay affects all of us email is - senator.keneally@aph.gov.au
  10. I would recommend anyone expecting to apply for 887 , applied and got the grant after an unfair waiting period or still waiting , to take few minutes of your time and send an email with your story and how this delay in processing 887 affect us specially when the government is saying that they want people to stay in regional but then by making processing times from being 3 - 6 months a while ago to purposely pushing it to more than 18 months and making our lives and plans in settling in regional a nightmare , can't buy a house , can't go to uni , can't upskill to get a job , cant get a job on bridging visa , can't start a business and do business freely without worrying about breaching visa conditions , asking for documents already submitted and delaying files again , Also visa costs 300 something so i believe if they are not efficiently processing our visas within a reasonable time frame even for simpler and straight forward files then they are wasting tax payers money too because for sure the visa fee of 887 can't cover all the co's salary and it has to come from aus tax payers , we go through security , background , character and health checks same as PR's when we applied for 489 and 887 stage has just two straightforward criteria to fulfill and 12- 18 + months to assess and process this visa is ridiculous , also if they do this to us and moved processing from being 3 - 4 months once to 18 + months now , they can do the same to new regional visa they are planning to introduce , they will also make them wait many more years in regional when they reach pr stage so i beleive this will concern prospective visa applicant for new version of 489 aswel , if more of us write to them then they will probably write it on news , and will probably contact immi for comments which could let 887 processing unit know that people have started to talk about this and take action to make sure they process our files efficiently without unfairly delaying them for no reason please send your stories to follwing reporter sbs news also metion how the government can delay pr stage of new visas so they know that this is a story that will interest more people from continents that use these visa or planning to use these visas , we have to make sure that prospective readers of sbs will be interested in this story so we have to connect show them how thisholders of this new planned newer version of 489 will also struggle if the gov do the same once they reach pr stage, take few minutes and write to them , if more of us share they will atleast consider writing about this lin.evlin@sbs.com.au
