  1. Hi, Just wondering if anyone can recommend a carpet layer for a small job - we need to replace 2 x bedroom and 1 x lounge carpet. Old carpet will be removed. Thanks in advance. (South Brighton)
  2. Hi, Just wondering if anyone is or can recommend a mobile nail technician in the Glenelg area. My mother is in a nursing home there and due to recent ill health has not been able to get out to have her nails done. She has acrylic (or gel?? not sure) nails and needs a fill/trim/shape colour. Thanks in advance .
  3. Hi, Just wondering if anyone can recommend a furniture restorer. I have two bedside table which need sanding back and re-varnishing - nothing too major. Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi There are 2 Emmaus schools in Adelaide- Emmaus Catholic Primary in Woodcroft and Emmaus Christian College in Plympton. My son currently attends Emmaus in Woodcroft. It is a small catholic school approx 280 students. He started in May when we transferred to Adelaide and settled into Grade 3 well. Everyone is friendly, there is no bullying and the staff are pleasant. Academically I do not think it is as good as his previous school - there is not too much emphasis on grammar - but they do offer extension groups for the more academically inclined. The parents also run after hours school sport which is well manager and fun for the kids. Emmaus Christian School, formerly Tabor College, formerly Bethesda is highly religious. My oldest son went there for 3 years (Grade 6 - Year 8). I found the education excellent but it was just too overly religious for him (and us). Hope this helps

  10. Hi, If they are looking for a B&B I run one at Hove (next to Glenelg), or alternatively if you look in http://www.realestate.com.au, under RENT then Holiday Rentals they might find something short term.Regards Corinne
  11. Hi Kieron, If it is of any help I run a small B&B with private facilities in the beachside suburb of Hove (in between the more well known suburbs of Glenelg & Brighton) We are close to the bus stop, and a short walk to the train station. There are numerous cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Train trip to Adelaide CBD is approx 20 min. If this is ointerest to you at all, please send me an email cegosling@yahoo.com.au. Regards Corinne
  12. Hi, Perhaps check under www.realestate.com.au, click on blue "rent" then look at holiday listings. Many of these are short term and furnished.
  13. Hi Marie, How many adults/children in your party? If you let me know I will give you a weekly rate. I guess you will only need short term accommodation until you find a permanent rental? The best place to start looking for a lon term rental before you even leave the UK is at www.realestate.com.au. Click on the blue "RENT" and enter your requirements. All real estate agents load their rentals on this website, and it will give you an idea of what's available and the cost. Regards Corinne
  14. Hi, I have just opened a B&B in Hove (between Glenelg/Brighton) Can only cater for a max. 2 persons, but if you need short term accommodation on arriving, or have extra guests I am more than happy to help. As a property manager, many of my English tenants have told me how hard it can be when you first get here, and have no transport etc. so I am happy to help in any way I can.
  15. Hi All, Although 1st generation oz, from english parents, I have spent more time there than here. Returned from Scotland 3 yrs ago to have our son here (eldest son is 21 this year so a little gap!) I work as a rental property manager & am pleased to see the no. of Poms coming accross. You make great tenants! I have just opened a small B&B in Hove (next to Glenelg/Brighton) so if anyone needs short term accommodation (as long as I can get my fix and talk all things english), or have extra friends/relatives needing accommodation please drop me an email. Always glad to give rental advice/help if I can.
