Is there not a bunnings in seaford just now?
A good news story for jobs is the Masters / Bunnings expansions. With the introduction of Masters into the hardware market there are thousands of jobs to be created in the next few years. Bunnings is countering the threat by buying up available prime ground and building more stores. Woolworths is doing the same.
There's a new Bunnings being built in Seaford which is very close to the existing Noarlunga store, and it all means more jobs.
Amid all the bad jobs news at least some good news.

I have found with working all over the city that there are certain areas that certain nationalities seem to stick to like Woodville gardens and Athol park have a large Asian population where Kilburn and prospect seem to have Indian Pakistani and Afghani living there It just what I have seen over the years in different areas.

I have no interest in your income and did not enquire about your income. I know it takes money to set up but most is claimed back from tax unless you have a really bad tax agent/ accountant.
Not all ,we were market price then also but do keep our prices the same now. It's unfortunate that a lot of people have view that tradies are raking it in (some do!). We have had some stinking quotes - they don't ever work for us or anyone we know.Even at $40 odd an hour its a lot of money!
Bit like some folks uniformed opinion of furnished rentals really, taking out the finance and maintaining it, purchasing all the furnishings, regular property maintenance (that can be very expensive), instantly having to replace fixtures and fittings if they break /wear out...........obviously all the expensive service /internet, regular linen replacement.
There is obviously a saturation point where you cannot take any more bookings - but I can only dream of that.
An awful lot have dropped out of the game as it's a lot tougher and perhaps they did not really think about the time and expense needed.
Quite unsure why you are fascinated by our income ( or lack of it!), I'd be picking on the Pollies and fat cat CEO's!!!!

Rest my case
PS I have never come across so many rude shoppers in one place
Does not look like you have been to Hollywood plaza or Arndale shopping centers then.

I think you are saying that for years that some have been over priced and now are on a even par with other furnished rentals cost wise.
As for self employed tradies making $75 an hour good luck to them if people are silly enough to pay that sort of money. But you must remember they had to serve a 4 -5 year apprenticship on very low wages and have overheads such as van and all types of tools to keep maintained.
That seemed to be what you are saying, I'm so very pleased that you are highlighting we are such good value now.Prices are very much in line with other furnished rental and due to the economic climate prices are maintained and less profits seen.
Wish I was a tradie now, the hourly rate can be something else!! $75 an hour for self employed sparkies!
I'm not jealous though - good luck to em if they can get it:smile:

So what you are saying they weren't good value but they are now.
So that means that they are really good value now????:biglaugh: -
Im in the wrong business should have furnished rentals. If the cost of rentals have not increased in the last five years or so and they can still charge the same now and still be in business making a profit they must have been making a killing over they years as the cost of living has jumped a large amount in that time ie electricity etc.
Congratulations on your visa being granted! The areas around Port Noarlunga are very popular and i'm sure that your family will love it around here.
I wish that I could help you with your accommodation needs but I am booked for the period that you are looking for. I'm sure that you will get real value for money from renting a furnished home from someone on this site. They are excellent value for money when compared to hotels, chalets and other temporary accommodation. Despite there being an increase in the price of unfurnished rental houses you'll find that furnished rates are the same as 5 years ago. For around $100 per night you get an entire house, internet access etc...a real home from home for your first few weeks.
I am a paid advertiser on this site and despite the ever increasing costs I still think that I offer good value for money...maybe that's why i'm booked. If you search on google or the holiday sites it should give you a good price comparison, and most holiday homes are comparatively very expensive.
If you are looking for a good value home around the Port Noarlunga area i would suggest that you send Tyke a PM. He has a wonderful double storey home in Seaford and his help and advice for new arrivals is so valuable too! I don't think that his prices have gone up in the past 5 years neither...sounds like a bargain to me!

Hi Tim
Glenelg/ Brighton looks like it would suit you, you would be looking at about a 30 min to Mclaren vale, Glenelg is a bit of a sort of holiday resort and busy in summer and busy at weekends through out the year.

I have enough work to keep me going I have been here for 17 years so have got regular clients who I carry work out for. I don't see the point in traveling for an hour do a job for an hour and travel back for an hour and have to charge to cover my time.Things are not that good for tradies I know a lot who struggle to have enough work to work for a full week. I think that I am one of the lucky ones that have enough work to be kept going and have regular clients who trust me and keep comming back.

He will only need a license if he is a sub contractor working for himself . If he is working for someone he will only need to get himself a white card.

A mate of mines just got the bump yesterday from some mining company in WA been there a couple of years and said there is nothing going at the moment. Another friend was getting a start in the mines was arranged to go to Queensland for induction two days before he was to go got a call to say it was cancelled that was only a couple of weeks ago.So to get a start you will be lucky or have to be in the right place at the right time. Good luck with your search.
