Hello All,

 

I havent been on this in such a long time. Since last time I have actually left Glasgow and arrived in Adelaide 3 weeks ago, and well......... we are loving it. Ross has secured a job already, we have a rental property and I have applied for several jobs. The weather has been great and the aussies are sooooo friendly. Hating the price of alcohol but something we will adapt too (we hope) haha.

Hi Claire, great to here your doing well. We are coming over next week for look arround for a few weeks. We decided to wait and save more money before leaving as we could not sell properties. If you fancy meeting up for drink let us know. We arive on 18th Nov and will be there 3 weeks.

Hi we are from Rossendale near Manchester and wondered if there was anyone from this area? We are looking at moving out in jan 2013, we are april (40) will (45) Charlotte (11) and Daniel (4).

If anyone would like to chat about the big move that would be great. Maybe even meet up and compare notes.

Hi April, we got our Visa in June. We intended moving over in November this year but after we were unable to sell house, so we pulled the plug and decided to wait. The main reason for this was to make sure we have plenty fall back funds if things go wrong. If we are moving to the other side of the world the last thing we need is to have money problems, so we are going to save like mad for a year or two max. I live in a place called Newton Aycliffe in Co Durham and have a two year old daughter and wife who is 31. We have to validate our visas so we are flying to Adelaide on the 17th November and return on 10th December into our nice warm weather!!!

It would be good to keep in touch as we may be going arround the same time. Also anyone already there it would be good to meet while we are over for holliday.

Hi All, sorry I have not been on for ages. My head is in bits not sure if we should wait a year and save like crazy or just go for it. We have someone coming to look at renting our house tomorrow, after trying to sell our flat and house we gave up and decided to rent them. Flat rented no trouble but house taking longer, I have job in Adelaide but have to work my way up again. After seeing some living costs it is scary. Anyone feel the same, I am usually a just go for it person, but something is stopping me!!!!! Hope your all OK. Stephen

Hi Claire, sorry I havnt been on for ages. So you got your Visa, congratulations. I have been to Adelaide for a look arround, it is better than I thought it fantastic. We have to sell house now so stuck, after visit only 2 places for me, Glenelg or Port Noralunga area near Seaford. The road system is unreal trafic just flows hardley ever get held up for long.

Thanks Stephen, did you have to tell the clinic it had been updated or is it automatic?

It would be great for it to be done online then atleast I know when things have gone/arrived.

Hi Sarah, our doctor was also chasing them for us. They should also be trying to sort things for you, it is automatic but they need to push for them to act quickly. Either way after your long wait not long now, we first applied in October 2008 so getting visa a few weeks ago was amazing. I am flying to Adelaide on Tuesday for job interview and look arround, cannot wait.

Had our meds today all went fine and the kids were great, but they could only find me on our TRN so had to do paper, iv sent an email to our CO and they are going to have another look tomorrow when another tech guy is in.

Our bloods won't be back till Tuesday but if it's posted it wont leave till next Friday so I guess that will mean a wait of 2/3 weeks until Sydney receive and process them.

 

It's great we are done but now it's the final waiting aaahhhh.

 

Roll on our holiday in 2 weeks...

Hi Sarah, the same thing happened to us I emailed case officer they get someone else to sort this out. I think it happens a lot to people who have had visa in for long time, you should still be able to do it online.

Hi Claire, no I never used one. Good point the email which comes back will go to your agent. But I think you CO will still get it. I did everything myself, dont understand why people use agents, you still have to get all the info, they just pass it on for you.

Do you know if this directs any query to your CO?

OMG OMG We got our visa's!! Wooooo Hooooo! :jiggy:I really can't believe it! I guess I can tell the accountant we don't need the other tax documents lol

Response from my agent, not what I was hoping for! The email detailed:

 

Basically I was only allocated a CO over a month ago, I am luckier than those that have been waiting for years! Too let the process run its couse and be patient as it will happen.

 

Not to compare myself to others - as there circumstances maybe different (even though I detailed a few cases were the exact same as ours).

 

I am really quite upset, I appreciate people have different circumstances. But all I am looking for is an email to be issued to our CO for an update if any!

I cannot believe he sent that to you, I would of gone mental. He is employed by you to help get your Visa, why is he talking about others, they do not concern you. Sack him and do the rest yourself, ask for direct contact details. I never used agent I think they are leaches.

OMG!! Just got up to an email from our agent and our visa has been granted!! The vase officer must have been waiting to push the button as soon as Noah's meds were finalised!! I didn't even get the chance to pit the champers in the fridge!

 

Am so so happy bit I feel bad being this happy when lovely people like Claire and Cara are still waiting and have been waiting longer than me. I sincerely hope that those CO's get their backsides into gear for you!

Yes, we are lucky ones too. Our 176 Visa was granted 11 May 11. We have booked our flights for our reccie trip to travel 20 August.......cant wait. We are renting a house in Moana from Acacia rentals. Good price, lovely accomodation and 3 mins walk to beach!

Hi Natalie, thats torture. My doctor told me there was small mistake uploading, he said if meds get referred dont worrie they will soon get sorted. This never happened, but maybe its the reason yours are having problem. Good luck hun, when you get visa you will most definately will have earned it.

Hi, I am coming to Adelaide at the end of this month for just over a week for a meeting about job and looking for best place to live. Would be good to meet and get some advice, I like the look of Christies Beach area. Trying to move over October.
