I have to say, I started off trying to do it for myself, got knocked back on loads of grey areas. I didnt think there was a hope in hell untill I sought advise from Jim @ must migrate. I had already blown a fair chunk of cash on live in Australia . Com I recommend giving this guy a call before you spend a penny or sign up to anything. Haha, never an extra but seen them around when filming and stuff, for a while everybody thought it was my dog on the beach at the beginning of each show. It wasn't but I rolled with it for a while I am a Barry island boy tho. Right what your saying, nothing ventured nothing gained. Ambition is critical, worse case scenario is I could be back on the rock eating mamma's home cooking without a penny in my pocket! Thats a gamble I can live with.

Yes, I am self employed at the moment would be sub contracting there, same as uk hopefully. Is your bloke subbing? I'm open to any options to be honest to get me started. Is he finding it easy to get work constantly?

Hi all, Had our visa granted in november but my girlfriend of 7 years has got cold feet and decided Australia is not for her anymore. I still think its too good an opportunity to let slip away and i've decided to go for it alone. It's definatley a exciting but daunting time at the moment and i could do with sharing my enthusiasm with like minded people. Im heading to Adelaide, I'm a 29 year old floor layer from Barry, South Wales. I also have family in Brisbane. Can anyone give me a heads up on the flooring game as there don't seem to be a lot about floor laying or finishing on these web forums? Also i was wondering if anyone has shipped a transit van over to oz as the vans there seem to be expensive and a bit dated. I'm currently using an 03 transit but would consider updating it here and shipping if the price was right. Any tradesman's experiences and / or advice warmly welcomed. Alright Oliver, I'm Danny from south Wales (the original british one), I just picked up you post on floor laying in adelaide and was just wondering how you were getting on on the work front. I'm in a very similar position as you were then, same age and trade. Wouldn't mind picking your brains over a few things. I have just got my state sponsor in for south Oz, after waiting 3 years for Queensland. My agent seems to thing I will be sent through very fast here. I hope it's going well for you.Regards Danny
