  1. Hi I've applied to have my NNEB (nursery nurse qualification) recognised by ACECQA . They are requesting my Academic transcript . It was 20 years ago so have no idea where it is !! Does anyone know where I can get one from or has had the same problem?? Thanks Dawn : )
  2. Thanks for the info do i need to make an appointment at currie street or can i just turn up ? Im guessing taking as much qualification / work evidence as poss would be good. Dawn
  3. I arrived in Adelaide with my family in April this year on a permanent visa . Im realising there are definite benefits to being a citizen (uni fees etc) does anyone know the current length of time you need to be here before applying for citizenship? I know it's been increased in recent years Many thanks Dawn
  4. Hi I need to get my UK NNEB qualification changed to a recognised Oz one can anyone point me in the right direction thanks Dawn
  5. Thanks for the advice. The property I rent out is a commercial property so unsure of tax position . I am a permanent resident though so thought I'd have to declare it here. Ill give Doug Booth a call thanks again Dawn
  6. Hi can anyone recommend an accountant who understands both Australia and UK tax systems ? I have been in Adelaide for a couple of months now so still finding my feet especially where money issues are concerned. I have rental income from uk and so need to understand what tax will be payable in both countries . I live in flagstaff hill so anyone local to there would be a bonus thanks for any info Dawn
  7. We have been here 7 weeks now so our journey is only just beginning . We love the scenery here, the beaches and everyone has been really friendly . Life is what you make it wherever you live. Our boys are very happy and have settled amazingly well so we can't ask for more than that . They love the outdoors and the freedom it brings. This move has been one of the hardest but definitely best things we have ever done . Good luck to anyone making the move Adelaide is a fantastic place to live and bring up children . Dawn
  8. Hi we have been here for 6 weeks now living in flagstaff hill and loving it ! My 3 boys go to hallet cove R-12 would love to meet for a coffee and chat. We are originally from Bristol Dawn

    NAB experience

Just a thought, I recently opened a NAB account from the uk and their emails went into my junk mail . Might be worth a check
  10. Hi Our visa is a 176 skilled sponsored permanent . The property being let out is a commercial let . Thanks Dawn
  11. We are moving to flagstaff hill in 3 weeks and are leaving a property in the uk which will be rented out. I'm going to need an accountant to sort the tax implications. Can anyone recommend one they have used ? Thank you
  12. Hi Lisa just noticed from another post your son is at hallet cove r-12. That's where my sisters children are and hope to get mine into! Nice to know your son has settled well there..... My son James would be in the same year when we get there in the spring ! thanks for your reply Dawn x
  13. Hi lisa that sounds like good advice....after listening to advice and talking it over I think it's invaluable for him to have time to make friends and settle before having pressure of yr 12. He does have his cousins already in flagstaff hill which is where we are planning on living but they aren't in the same school year. It's nice to know your children are happy even though they were against it. My son is sort of ok with it but understandably apprehensive .....my eldest who is 21 is adamant he is staying in the uk......never ending emotional roller coaster although I'm certain inside its the right thing for all of us and can only hope my eldest decides to give it a go and my other children are happy there !! Dawn
  14. thank you for all your advice. he will be 17 at the end of august. we were hoping to be in adelaide by january but from what everyone has said it may be a blessing in disguise that we are going to be arriving a few months later. i think going into year 11 while he settles in then year 12 from january 14 will be beneficial to him in the long run. thanks again its really good to hear many families are in or have been in the same situation...........after all we all want the best for our kids.......thats why we are moving in the first place ! Dawn
  15. Hi We are emigrating next year with our children. Im trying to look at education options for my 16 year old son. If we move June/July 13 he will have just completed his AS exams in the uk Does any one know if he will have to go back to school and complete year 12 in adelaide from Jan 14 or if he will be able to slot in and finish the year when we arrive. He is interested in a career in psychology. would this mean he has to complete year 12 qualification in order to get enough points for uni or is there an option to study psychology at college. Apologies if I sound confused !!! I am !!! Any help will be hugely appreciated.
