I am planning to buy a new car and want to choose from one Cherokee or Outback.

I would really like to go for Jeep - but everybody around me suggesting Jeep is not reliable and maintenance is expensive. On the other hand Subaru is reliable and less expensive maintenance.

Before I go for one - can you guys suggest anything in perspective to Adelaide ?

Anybody have any idea how much time it takes these days to start a Visa 600 ?

I am applying for my parents online as a sponsor; I was discussing with one of my friends while applying and he suggested the process as

login to your immi account . lodge an application (600) for tourist visa for your family members > than upload documents that they will ask . once all the document uploaded , health check done and biometric data has been taked in dhaka vfs office (for health check and bio metric data they will e-mail you two document that need to be sent to applicants at dhaka for process) then you submit the application and paid visa fee

But in practice at the last step of application when I click Submit - I get the payment option and it looks like without paying I can't submit the application !!

Can anybody please help and tell me if I should pay at this stage and proceed ?

What are the documents I might need to submit once the application is lodged ?

Congrats. Whenever I call Brisbane number they said they are not the point of contact for 887 visa and they advised me to send an email to team 10 adelaide team. I am wondering how did manage to speak to someone in Brisbane team who is reliable ?

I was calling for the entire week and was hearing for the same response you are getting now; Please have some patience and keep knocking.

Update: Called Brisbane phone number in the morning and the lady requested me to wait for a while and finally confirmed that my visa will be finalized shortly and soon after I hung up got my visa approval email. Thanks everyone for your support.

Hi everyone. I posted this before as well but didnt get a response. I applied for Visa 887 from 489 on 22 June '15.

 

My query is regarding Medicare Levy Exemption. Since I have applied for 887 before tax time but haven't got residency yet, am I still eligible for Medicare Levy Exemption?? Has anyone applied in June and still got medical levy exemption? This is one of the questions asked on the exemption form and they ask for the PR application date.

As far I know as soon as you apply for 887 you are no longer entitled for the Medicare Levy Exception; You should have got your Medicare Card as soon as you applied for PR, isn't it ?

Called the public number again today and was told its going through some internal check [anybody, any idea what is that actually ?] !!

Well, no one really knows if inquiries with the application really help however I was trying to get in touch with the DIBP via email and GSM Brisbane phone as much as sounded reasonable. I personally couldn't just sit and wait the department to contact me so I did whatever possible to get any update.

What are the replies you got from them when you called ? Anything particular you requested during your last call ?

After 11 month and 5 days, today I am pleased to let you know that the PR is granted.

In addition of the information provided in the signature I communicated with several officials ranging from Local federal MP to assistant immigration minister none of which apparently helped until the ESC was cleared.

 

I wish everyone awaiting decision, a speedy grant letter.

Just called 131881 and after one hour of queue - what I was told that my application processing was last updated on March and now I have to contact the team10 via email to see why is it holding !! - So, frustrating !!

Applied August 4, 2014; Got CO on November 4 - Asked for Form 80 and updated. Till then emailed couple of times asking if anything else is needed - Answered nope and here I am waiting...

This is my timeline:

475 to 887--- Application Date: 22 Aug 2014---Team 10 Request: 12 Nov 2014

No Team 13 Request so far---Referred to ESC: 23 Nov 2014---Grant ???

Did you make any phone call or any other communication ?

Until your current provisional visa 489 expires you won't be able to relocate to places that are not included in your visa condition so the answer is NO. If your existing visa ceases before 887 is granted you need to follow conditions on your bridging visa which in most cases does not have any condition.

This answer is typical even days before the case is finalized. My friend who got his PR yesterday, had called Brisbane number just a week ago and was told that his case hadn't come back from external checks.

You can also lodge a complaint to IGIS to see if external checks on your application have been cleared.

Generally these inquiries are for information purposes only and unfortunately there is not much that can be done by the applicant to accelerate the process apart from providing documents as required.

Ok I will do that. But the auto answer was saying that all the cases will be dealt by 1st of August ! What is your idea about it ?

As you suggested I just called to 07 3136 7000 and the lady just said she doesn't have any update regarding my application and for further queries I better communicate via email Bad luck I guess. Any other suggestion ?

Thanks applicant887. But should I really try Brisbane GSM Team !! I thought Team 10 is from Adelaide - In face all the communications I am receiving is from adelaide.gsm.team10@immi.gov.au - which does look like from Adelaide, isn't it ? Or am I missing anything ?

Its been almost 1 year since I have applied for and got CO but not granted my PR yet - even though lots of people who applied afterwards got theirs' approved !!

I have contacted Team 10 couple of times and they always comes up with same reply that they are trying their best and the processing varies from person to person !!

I want to give them a call now - any suggestion ?

Is there anyone recently updated their passport info? I am on 475 and I emailed my case officer attaching my new passport's scanned copy and a filled 929 form. It's been more than 9 days and I haven't heard back from them - not even an acknowledgement receipt. I am being so frustrated as my application for 887 is due a the end of this month and I also need to apply for Police Check before applying for 887.

Anybody have any idea what's going ? or share their experience and suggestions ?

Right now I am living in Adelaide with a 475 visa and soon will be applying for 887.

When I started in Adelaide I shared accommodation with one of my friends for 6 months. The house was actually rented by my friend.

Now as I need to submit proof of my living in that address what are the documents that I need to submit that you think sufficient ? I have heard there is a some kinda form that can be filled up and signed by the person who rented the house and attested by JP - need to be submitted. Can anybody refer me any link where I can find the form ?

As far I have checked I din find any Microsoft Certification on their list. Is it anything I missed ? What exam your partner took, anyway ?!
