    Meds done

Hi Hayls You don't talk or write to much - thats what this forum is all about!! I have not got sponsorship yet. The agency are not keen for me to request meds / pcs. I have decided that if I get sponsorship during Nov, hopefully pre Xmas I will tell the agency I want help with the pcs - its only £10 so why wait! I am happy to book in the meds for end Jan. My visas ready at the agency - I just need the sponsorship!!! Angela

    Meds done

Hi Hayls After your meds you got the visa very quickly - can I ask was that recently at all?? Although I am still awaiting sponsorship I thought middle of next year was pushing being in Oz but if I am sent for meds / pcs in the new year realistically I could perhaps be out in maybe May 07? Is my estimate optimistic?? Angela :? :?

  4. The agency have replied & confirmed: "Basically, DIMA have changed the timeframes for citizenship (NOT residency!). While this means people need to stay in Australia for longer before becoming eligible for citizenship, they have also made it easier for people on temporary visas (SIR 495 for example) to use the time spent as a temporary resident towards the eligibility requirement." "In short, you cannot become a citizen until you are eligible as a permanent resident meeting the timeframes & you can apply for permanent residency as planned once you have met the conditions placed on your 495 visa. Applying for permanent residency is not an application for citizenship." Hopefully this clarifies the situation. Angela
  5. Am I being thick !! :?: You use this HIFX to forward buy AUD Dollars - am I correct in thinking that this is because you are taking a 'lot' with you eg house sale etc.... You therefore get a good exchange rate. I have never heard of this before? Angela :?
  6. Thanks for the clarification Lisa.........started to panic & I know you are on the same visa class as us. Hope the meds :? today went well Angela
  7. Hi Lisa My son will be 11 in Oct 2007. In the UK he will be Year 6 Juniors in Sept 2007 but I think we will be in SA before then. The Australian school year differs to the UK - do you know if in Jan/Feb 2008 he will be Year 6 still & stay there a bit longer or Year 7 - reason is Year 7 is Senior school & my youngest is only 6 years old - they both think that they will start a new school together !!!! Any ideas how it will work out for me?? Thanks Angela :?
  8. Hi Lisa Do let me know what contact you make regarding rentals etc Its always best to shop around especially as I don't know which part of Adelaide I want to be in yet !! :?: :?:
  9. Hi Lisa Whats a forward contract ?? :?: You are so positive & having booked the flights - I need whatever it is that you have!! Confidence is one thing Angela

    We Must be mad

Me to - am I jealous. !! Lisa you are the most organised women on these forums!! I admire you.... It is a long flight, we did a reccie in April but to BNE & NSW - lovely but not for the life we wanted....we flew JAL - do NOT recommend them. Stop-over in Tokyo - not what I expected. Hoping my sponsorships through pre Xmas so the visa can be processed. I am so impatient, its only been 13 days !!! You do get jealous when others get a reply in 10 days - my agency said 4 - 6 weeks to - I HATE waiting.... Angela

    Hello all

Hi there I was wondering if you could show me where to look. Our agency confirmed that they will probably do the visa online. When its time, exactly how do you know which visas are being processed? You mentioned they are doing Aug now? Thanks again Angela

    Hello all

Hi there Having chased the agency, the result was issued on the 9th Oct from the TRA - I think they sent it to them around the 11th Sept. The agency chased the TRA around the 13th Oct & they said they would not discuss it over the phone but that the result had been issued & was on its way! I emailed the agency again & they said they were happy to wait until around the 20th Oct before they contacted the TRA again. God knows why it took so long to get to the UK but all in all I would say it was 26 working days in total. Ashley received the call on Monday 16th Oct from the agency & a copy of the letter arrived with us the following day. Who is the main applicant Lisa on your visa you or your OH? Angela

    Hello all

Yes its a great relief! I was starting to lose sleep over not having received the result.........one part of me thought they would ask my OH Ashley to go back to college but luckily he passed! The sponsorship was requested last week, although I had to post a signed document from my OH on Friday which they would have received today - I think this is sent with some other evidence that OE have requested from us & collated. A couple of friends are interested in our house, we have agreed to talk 'money' post Xmas I don't think much will happen before - do you think this gives us enough time ??? I need to get more positive!!! :!: Angela

    Hello all

You are so organised! I could never have sold up that early - can I ask what made you certain that you would be accepted, also is your visa the SIR495 or perm residency? Like you say I am the end chain in the house sale, but the person who currently wants it has a house to sell & in turn their buyer etc will have perhaps. Its really difficult to know whens best to sell. I think I still can't believe that we are 'almost' there - I think once we have the sponsorship sorted, I will be more relaxed (except the medical) but I am thinking now that this will be ok since we last spoke! Hello all

Hi Lisa I have just emailed OE the agency to ask them whether we will progress with meds & PCs if the sponsorships successful. I'm paying them a lot of money so don't want to just sit back, if I can be in SA sooner rather than later - great! I have a house to sell though first, so we will have to do this post Xmas. Difficulty is 2 of my friends are interested & this may sound great but its difficult as I just have to look at it as a business deal! Are you selling up? Angela

    Hi all

Hi Lisa Thanks for this, its reassuring knowing that I am not the only person who is over-weight. Do let me know how you get ........please! I have heard that they do note the BMI thing, but its unlikely to effect the overall medical. I've not had my blood pressure taken since having my 2 children, its was fine then so hopefully it will be ok for the Meds! See you Angela

    Medicare

Thanks Lisa. Do you think anyone emigrating from the UK ever bothers with private healthcare. It sounds to me that we get the necessary immediate treatment free, we have to pay for dental though - as we do in the UK. I think with Medicare you still have to speak to them when you get to SA as there is some kind of card or something so that if you need to give the GP who bulk bills then this number is used at that time. I know what I mean but I cannot explain it properly. Health insurance is the one area that I might leave to my OH, its too complicated for me!! Angela

    Hi all

Hi All We GOT it last week - the TRA is positive !!! And yes Donna OE have already done the SA sponsorship on-line. I did some forms previously with the visa application (in advance) & the sponsorship question around why SA / support etc was done at the same time...........its wierd but you do so many forms sometimes you forget which ones you have done !! I also had to send bank statements, pension info etc. Can I ask a really simple question ! - does anyone know if you can fail the SA sponsorship? I've checked immigration.sa & we have everything to meet the criteria but I think I am a bit of a worrier...........! I think we will have to start thinking about the house sale after Xmas. I imagine we will have a sponsorship reply soon & the visa paperworks all at OE ready to be processed. Just meds & PCs. Does anyone know if you can fail on BMI on the medical??? I am slightly over-weight for my height (due to having 2 children really) but I don't smoke or drink much, train in the gym 3 times a week so I think fairly fit - but the scales don't lie! (unfortunately) - could this be a problem on the medical ?? Thanks All Angela

    Hello all

Hi Donna / Lisa ITS POSITIVE !!!! We received the call from the agency last Monday & a copy of the letter on Tuesday.......I am now sort of de-stressed. SA Sponsorship has been done online by the agency, Friday I think. My OH Ashley who is the main applicant, painter & decorator, had to sign the form which the agency should receive on Monday. I think this bit takes about 28 days.......is this true? The visa paperwork is with the agency ready to go once SA sponsor us. Does anyone know if they ever refuse sponsorship? I also need to ask the agency about medicals & PCs as nothings been booked yet. By the way what is visa aknowledgement? Is this when DIMIA receive the application & confirm back to you? I just wondered as most people are getting meds / PCs after this has been received? Questions, questions.................at some stage I need to think about selling the house! I think that I am still a little nervous & perhaps I still think that we may be turned down for the visa! but everyone else on-line is so positive! Help.......... Regards Angela
  22. Wet Britain........a walk on the beach on Xmas day. I know what I prefer! We were restricted due to points too, I think we were 5 points short, but having, like everyone, researched about SA Adelaide I am now really looking forward to when we emigrate (fingers crossed!). Still a few worries about my 2 boys settling in etc aged 10 & 6 but I know it will give them a great life down under & they will thank me for it one day! Regards Angela

    Hello all

Hi Both I am new to this site! Our TRA results due back any time....its been with the TRA since 11th Sept - starting to panic but our agency said its normal - do you girls agree?? Interesting that you have already requested PCs & Medicals - my agency said they would advise us to do these but not yet. Are you processing your application yourselves? My OH is a painter & decorator, we have 2 boys aged 10 & 6 yrs - looking forward to a healthier, happier, fun life in SA!! Visited Queensland & NSW earlier this yr, had a fab holiday! Good luck both Angela

    Hi all

Hi Everyone I am new to this site too! Me, my OH Ashley & 2 boys age 10 & 6 yrs - a handful at times but they are both now at school. We are waiting for our TRA result, our agency lodged it on the 11th Sept. I was expecting it back last week but the agency have still not heard !! Needless to say I have emailed them for whether they plan to contact the TRA or not - does anyone know if 11th Sept until now is a reasonable amount of time to get a result?? Or am I being inpatient?? My OH is a painter & decorator, I work 3 days as an asst supply mgr (jobshare) - we have applied for the SIR495 against Ashleys Trade. Visa application compiled at the agency, so once the results in & SA agree sponsorship - incidentally does anyone know if you get the TRA positive result do SA automatically sponsor you??? Sorry for the Q's but its very stressful this migration thing.... Thanks a bunch for reading Angela

    Hi to All

Hi I am new to this website. My OH & I (plus 2 boys age 10 & 6) are using an agency in Edinburgh, although we are based in the East Midlands! They were friendly & helpful BEFORE any money changed hands! I would recommend them... Overseas Emigration We are awaiting our TRA result & will then shortly apply for an SIR495 visa, which is temporary for 3 yrs bound for Adelaide SA - we only get 110 points so this was the best option for us! Visited Oz but never SA - it does look so very beautiful... Good luck with the agency! I think whoever you choose, they are all pricey & will offer you a free consultation. Also I have heard that Go Matilda is good too .. Angela
